Wow. I rented it from Blockbuster, WHAT A LETDOWN! This game is terrible! Voice acting, Gameplay, Story line everything...

Totally overated game.

Your guys thoughts on the game?

you're crazy. game of 2008. I loved it.

I'm playing it right now.

It's not too bad. Kind of annoying that they use the same voices for similar characters.

It's a gorgeous game though... Lotta detail.

The gameplay is reeeeeeeally long. I feel like there's no end in sight and I've got like 100 hours into it. A lot of it has to do though if you do all the sidequests. But I'm really enjoying it.

I really like the 30's music on GNR though. Kinda surreal. Although it does feel like a slight ripoff of Bioshock.

make sure you look into the glitch where you can get 5 followers. it makes the game really entertaining.

I thought the game was cool, one of the best semi-rpg type games I played. I blew up the Nuke to get started an took the town off the map. You have to build your character up or you'll get your ass kicked. I thought it was one of the better games of 2008 and it took me about two weeks to beat. I didn't do all the side missions though.

I did a good chunk of them, and beat the game. The more stuff you do, the more you like it. I made an effort to get a ton of the special items. I got the bastard shotgun, which does the most damage in the game if you concentrate on small guns, and it makes pretty much anything you shoot explode into tiny pieces.

It's a good game, but it felt entirely too much like Oblivion, a game I didn't enjoy.

Also, what is it with Bethesda - they hire one world-class actor to do a 30 minute voice acting spiel ... and then kill him off? First Patrick Stewart, now Liam Neeson ...

Overall, though, I agree with the OP ... it's a touch overrated.

Name a better WRPG than this from 2008. There isn't one.

Totally agree. bought the game, i thought it was going to be amazing but i was very disappointed. I returned it to gamestop. I dont know why i didnt like it but i thought it sucked.

Just finished the main Quest tonight.

Decent game. The final altercation at the end was pretty mindnumbingly easy, but I had a good time playing it.

It ruined the Fallout series. That's all I'm going to say on the issue. I've gotten sick of Bethesda.

I loved everything about Fallout 3, but the main quest was miserably short. I was shocked when it was over. How can you beat the main quest without seeing 75% of the map. I hadn't even wandered around the national mall area.

I will return to see those areas at some point, but I haven't played in months.

Oblivion with it's expansions and add-ons is the far superior game but Bethesda ruining Fallout? LMAO. It was a lame duck series rotting away because Tim Cain and the rest of Black Isle fell apart because Interplay collapsed...

So the choices were to either play nothing at all or enjoy Bethesda's take on the Fallout universe. Playing nothing at all and then bitching about what is out there is something a shut-in PC gamer does, not me.

I would've rather the series stay dead. And no, I'm not a shut-in PC gamer. Those were really the only games I ever played on my PC other than Blizzard products.

But if you can't see how Fallout 3 was a failure, then I'm sorry. Bethesda with it's whole 5 voice actors for 23482374 characters has really gotten old. The ending of the game was pure shit. I can't wait to see how craptacular the DLC are. VATS was simply the most overpowered lame POS ever added to a game. It made the game so dull.

And I wasn't a fan of Oblivion either. I have an issue with facial graphics that look like they come straight from a 96 era game when I'm playing on a high def system. They really need to hire some better graphic artists or work on a better engine. I would prefer a whole new engine, but that's a completely different rant.

How about the gameplay of Oblivion though, neverminding the graphic elements? Despite my ups and downs with Fallout 3, I'm kind of on an RPG kick these days after playing Fallout & Fable 2 recently.

I'm interested to hear people's opinions on Oblivion.
