Fallout 3 Game thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't buy on Ebay. Go to the store, buy the Greatest Hits version for $20 bux that includes the Bring Down the Sky DLC with it. Much smarter investment.

Too late. :(

I got an unopened copy for $15.77 shipped though.

Meh... Fallout 2>3>1 ;)

I got into RPG's with Phantasy Star on the Sega Master System. Since then, I've always been partial to Japanese style RPG's, at least until KOTOR.

Damn... I have both Suikoden 1 and 2... I haven't played any of the others. Both of those games were crazy.. One-hundred plus sized parties?? For real.. BTW, have you checked out the new Star Ocean yet, is it out?

You bred 2 new copies of KOTR?!? LOL!!! Jesus man.... My best run through, I had tons of awesome maxed materia, hella megalixirs (without W-Item glitch), and 2 mime materias for KOTR. Had laced Ruby (with only Cloud) and Emerald and was like "who the **** is next!!!!"

BTW, why not just download Suikoden I and II?? Play it on a modded original xbox or your PC. That's how I replayed Xenogears (greatest game yet made) with my girlfriend -- used the PS emulator for xbox...

I looked into the new SO, since I loved the first two.. *I'm still undecided on how much I hate 3*.

The only problem is I have an SDTV, and from what I've been told, it suffers the same fate that Dead Rising does on an SDTV, tiny ass text that is impossible to read. I've got enough of a backlog on the 360 alone that it won't kill me to hold off buying that game until I can upgrade my tv. Though, that does require a job that is non existant in this area.

Star Ocean 3 is pretty fun game.. You just gotta take the ending of the game, and totally forget it, completely. Then it's fun. Once you go to the "real world," the game is utterly ruined. Before that, it's actually pretty good..

Oh I've finished it gourimoko. The minute I hit the "4th Dimension" and found out that the entire series was nothing but one big giant MMO, I was pissed. With the recent rereleased of SO1 and SO2 for the PSP, I was even more pissed off that they wanted to keep that premise by adding in new characters in SO1. *On that note, **** them for not including the missing dungeons in SO1. There was at least 1 complete character set, and 2 more dungeons in the original ROM that never made it to the final cut. I want that shit added, not drop in a character from 3 into the series.*

At least the Suikoden series had an interesting way of dealing with recurring characters. Space the games apart in different sections of the world in different time frames. Any character like Viki that's in all 5 games gets lost teleporting with her mirror into different time frames.

If you want an explanation as to why I love the Suikoden series so much.. Put it this way. 6 games released in the US *2-3 more in japan that will never come here* and they still haven't touched on 2-3 major powers mentioned throughout any of the games. Out of 28 True Runes, they've only introduced I believe 12. Ted being in S4 was great though. It gave me giggles to use the Soul Eater again.

Hell, they even managed to have awesome foreshadowing in the earlier games. Of course, I highly doubt they were intentional in the first game or 2, but you can see how huge they made just that one planet.

Yet SO had to cop out of their entire series plotline. I was pissed at Enix for that, and I still haven't gotten over it.

Just picked up a bundle that had FO3 and Oblivion for ten bucks. I didn't really like New Vegas because of all of the glitches, but I'm liking 3 so far.

thats was certianly alot of insight and detail to resurrect a 3 year old dormant thread.

It's not like anybody is using this section for anything besides that 30 year NES anniversary anyways. Fallout 3 is critically acclaimed as one of the best games of the generation.

Really hope they release a new version soon.. Nothing comes close to Fallout, IMO... Such an awesome game.

Nothing funner than running around the wasteland with Nukes that you can throw as far as you want. Cheats in this game are crazy.

If you have the game on PC look into the Mods.

The Mods fix glitches, add content like weather cycles, better VO's, graphic upgrades and add content that was removed from the game so it would run on the consoles like open strip and open freemont. I will say though if your pc isn't beasty don't run the open strip or freemont cause it will crash from time to time because of the requirements only problem I've run into

Forgot a mod that add's battle skirmishes between NCR, the Brotherhood and Ceaser's L on the map as random encounters

Also a bunch of Mods out there that improve the Fallout 3 vanilla game by leaps and bounds

My save game got corrupted and I couldn't finish a 60 hour plus gameplay. I'm still bitter about it.

360, this was like whenever the game was new.

I got the game and all the expansions off of steam but I haven't gotten around to playing it again. My one laptop had issues with it.

I would say if you have the choice to just start over on the pc once you get the laptop taken care and utilze mods. I use a lot the mods from Nexus because it comes with a loader, fully reviewed mods and instructions on how to use everything. It might be a tad time consuming to set up Mods at first but it's more than worth it

NV supposedly gets better reviews than Fallout 3, but I think the whole apocalyptic feel was much stronger in D.C. than it was in the desert.
