Does anyone here have an opinion on drafting a dominant QB early? If I land the number 1 pick in my league I'm going to seriously consider taking Rodgers.

Edit: I just joined a public league on a whim and drafted. 10 teams I picked 4th.

Solid draft but if I were you I would pick up Darren McFaddens handcuff Mike Goodson. He seems to have the upper hand over Taiwan Jones for the backup job. You know McFaddens going to miss at least a few games.
 
So the draft for my real league is Sunday. Any last minute advice or players to look out for? I think the commissioner is planning on throwing a wrench in things by changing the scoring a bit. Last season QBs were highly favored, 6 points for TDs and other points gained for yards and completions and such. I think he's going to more standard scoring this time around. He's also told me he's likely going to veto all of my trades because of my history of trade rape, so I better get it right at the draft. :chuckles:

It's a small league, 8 teams. I'm not sure where I'm picking yet.
 
To continue from my last post, draft order has been posted and I'm at 7. That likely puts me out of the top RB discussions. If I'm lucky I might be able to grab Brady or Brees, but I doubt it. At this point I'd have to consider Calvin or Stafford. Chris Johnson might be there at 7, I'm not sure how I feel about him. Any opinions? I had him last year and he was dog shit, his only redeeming quality was that I was able to flip him for Mojo. You guys think he's going to bounce back this season?

Edit: And I was just offered a trade. His 16th and 17th picks for my 10 and 23. He has the number 1 overall pick so he's likely thinking Foster at 1, QB at 10. I give up a high pick, but in return get back to back picks in the 3rd round.

Edit Edit: I talked him into 16, 17, 33 for 10, 39, 103.

I thought so too, but I was drunk when negotiating with him so I wanted to make sure I didn't miss something. He offered the trade this morning and I accepted. He sends 16, 17, 33 for 10, 39, 103.

If I had to guess, based on who I think will be available, I'd say I might come out with Gronk and Charles. Who knows, maybe Mojo or forte slip.
 
We need to figure out this alt. league pretty quickly here, Id like to draft before the season starts.
 
I have a pre draft deal set up for calvin Johnson in the first round so with my second round pick being at 14 which position do you guys think I should go? Im thinking qb because in my league qb's score 6 points for tds. So I'm going to be picking between Stafford or Newton or should I go with another position? Your comments would be appreciated.
 
If your league is 6 pts for QB then you grab an elite qb in the first round. There is no way around it, how many teams and what is first round pick?
