A dude in my pay dynasty league dropped Cam Meredith yesterday. I was shocked, because I think Meredith has WR2 potential in fantasy. I was equally shocked that I got him for free and no one else even bothered to put in a claim. I'm out of money now, so I couldn't bid anything and pretty much resigned myself to not getting him. Logged on when I got home tonight and he was on my team.

Ironically, he dropped Meredith to pick up JJ Watt, who I dropped. I'll call that a win. I think Meredith has a much better chance of being a meaningful fantasy football player going forward than Watt. Watt just looks done. He can't stay healthy and, when he's been on the field, he just hasn't been terribly effective.

I certainly would have held on to Meredith over Matt Breida (who I like, but still), Alfred Morris, James Conner, and Andy Dalton (this is a single QB league, so Dalton has next to no value). Dude's also wasting a roster spot on Jimmy G and doesn't even have Brady.

So once you lose your budget, you are left with guys who have cleared waivers?

You can still put in waiver claims but you can’t bid any money. So if someone had bid a dollar, I can’t beat it. I assume if several people bid the same amount it goes by record or something.

Basically I bid zero every time now.

PPR?

You very likely could because a lot of fantasy players now a days Love elite WRs

I myself am lower on Julio and have been all year (thought he should be behind Mike Evans in non PPR).

RBs that I personally would not trade for Julio:
Bell
Hunt
Fournette
Gordon

Guys I MIGHT do but would have to think carefully about:
Freeman
Gurley (I view him as a big time sell high candidate)

Anyone else and I would make the swap.

I feel like last week I saw a report saying they were trying to ink him to an extension. Guessing that fell through.

I'd go Martin and Engram....but Thielen is probably a coin flip in that one.

Then the guy team under performs and goes 0-4, how many people made fun of my team?

My team looks poised to finish at least in the top 3 if not win the championship then no one says anything? Who was right about his team from the start.
