Yeah. If the price is Korver to take a flyer on Fultz then I'm okay with it. Reality is a first from Philly is likely going to be really low. You can occasionally get something decent there but Fultz was drafted #1 for a reason. Doesn't mean his shoulder will ever get figured out or he'll ever be worth anything, but he has more of a chance than someone picked at 24.

Wouldn't want to give up a first rounder and Korver for him. I might give them the Miami pick we got from Boston and Korver.

They needed shooting. Fans there still love Korver. Other teams will be interested in him. Philly has a chance to get Fultz off their books, save a bit of money next year, bring back someone the fans love, and add a deep threat for a guy they've given up on.

No reason to overpay if you're the Cavs.

That #1 pick money is another factor that will scare teams from giving the Sixers a good offer. He is set to make 9.745 million next year, 12.288 million in 2020-2021, and a qualifying offer of 15.975 in 2021-2022.

A team could still get out of the $12M but anyone that wants him won't want to do that.

A competitive team won't need him and a lottery team is going to max protect a pick. The Sixers can't really get much for him. The best they can hope for is a vet to help them now. And competing teams aren't going to give that up.

They could try for Joe Harris, but I doubt the Nets would want to part with him for a risky guy like Fultz. Had been some talk of Courtney Lee but he has yet to return and how will he look?

Philly has not helped themselves overall with this. Korver helps them now and gives them future cap flex. They can keep him next year or cut him and save a bit. He can shoot and he can still erupt for big games like he did last night. He has a lot of playoff experience as well, something a guy like Harris does not have.

I'd be surprised if there are many better options. Korver is about as much as I'd be willing to drop on Fultz because I doubt Fultz puts it all together. He might develop into a backup at PG. Maybe that star potential will shine, but there's no guarantee.

Some have said the Hawks make sense, but not sure. Dedmon is the match to trade and I don't think he helps Philly as much and I think the Hawks can get a better return close to the deadline on him.

If they could figure out how to get both Korver and Hill without giving up Wilson Chandler or they could get another wing defender, that would really take the sixers to the next level. I think Hill is the perfect PG/SG to pair with Simmons, Butler, and Embiid. If they give up Wilson Chandler they are down to one wing in Butler that is a proven player and good defender.

It would be difficult for Hill to work. A third team could grease the wheels. He would be a fit for the Sixers but you're right - at the cost of Chandler.

Need to see how Hill looks when he comes back this week and in future games. Hopefully he can showcase as well. He's a guy that can help a team now and free up a lot of space next year too.

It is pretty Clear Cedi is the Man they want taking that shot. ultimately in quarters with less than 3 minutes remaining within 5 points. Korver is 2-5 out of the teams 40 attempts in those situations. ultimately though as a team they are 11-40 on clutch threes in any quarter and 4-8 with less than 3 minutes within 5 in the 4th.

not a large sample size at all.

so far though if the game is within 5 at any time. George Hill has been the most effective followed by Rodney Hood then Kyle Korver from the three with Jordan and Cedi taking the most attempts.

I believe Fultz is working with Anthony Bennett right now, and let me tell you: looking great! Body fat somehow below 0, really knocking everything down in 3 on 3's.

Seriously, you know it's the start of NBA training camp when you'd get the "Anthony Bennett is looking real good in private workouts" articles. Same will be true for Fultz going forward.

That said, I'd totally drink the Fultz-koolaid if we got him. It's amazing how far he's fallen from this:

Even with his jumper yips, Fultz has really good size, has solid defensive potential as a 1 or a 2, and is a good creator in the half-court. There are some real tools to work with. I do wonder what would happen with him if the expectations of joining a potential contender changed to just go out and do your best for a bottom feeder...He needs confidence and reps in the worst of ways and we can offer him both. I don't think the fit with Sexton is great but I also don't think we should worry about that too much right now, there's plenty of room for both guys to cook and eat as long as we kick Clarkson out of the table.

I would take him for Korver. I mean, I was really hoping for a late first for Korver, and at the very least I think Fultz at least holds the value of a mid-late first in some places around the league. He's a good ball handler and creator with great size for a guard, and has some excellent tools to work with. Get in the best developmental coaching staff you possibly can this summer and let them go to work with Fultz and Sexton. If both guys end up succeeding and the fit eventually proves to be incompatible, you can move on from one of them in the future.

at what point is the Kyle Korvor thread dead and the Markelle Fultz safari underway?

Have you heard any news or movement on this possible Fultz trade?

Fultz' jumpshot doesn't look that good in the highlights. Kinda sloppy. I'm always worried when an unintended bank shot is part of the highlight package. The fact it has fallen so far...

I'd still take him, but a lot of what he did in college looks like a guy that is a better athlete. His handle is ok, those passes were good. He was physical, but he won't bully anyone in the NBA.

Very worried about his attitude. Getting his own trainer who wasn't qualified, the mysterious shoulder, taking time away from the team. Wort a flyer, but I am not very optimistic.

Except the difference is we would not have been the ones to spend the #1 on him. I would not want to give up anything of high value to us for the long term for him, but at the cost of Korver he would be worth the risk.

All I have heard recently is that Philly is aggressively pursuing Korver but I have not heard any specifics of an offer.

Fultz shot less than 65% FT in college. That's kind of low for a guy who supposedly had a good shot. That's why I really wonder how good a shooter he was.

The counter being he shot 40+% on 5 attempts per game. Bad shooters are not capable of doing that.

FT% might indicate that was a little inflated by a good shooting year but even at 35-36%, given his skillset, that is an incredibly valuable player.

Cavs don't need Fultz.

Our view shouldn't be "do we need x player". Our view should be "how do we trade an old distressed asset for a young distressed asset".

Fultz could turn in to something in 12-18 months. Korver could be retired in 12-18 months. It's all about taking smart, calculated gambles as we start over.
