Don't know if you guys saw this but you have to respect Korver,,,could be coaching material down the road.

I think Korver understands the long game and knows whatever inconvenience that a mid season trade might be to his family, that it could play off to a post-playing career in coaching or in a front office. He is showing his worth right now to the Cavs and he might get rewarded down the road. Even an extra year or two as a 14th or 15th man making vets minimum is extra money in his pocket. I bet the first job offer when Korver retires could be from the Cavs offering him the position of shooting coach. His floor is a well paid shooting coach for the next 25+ years of his life, not many pro athletes have that in their back pocket.

Sam The Bullshit Whisperer
The Cleveland Cavaliers are believed to have dangled veteran wing Kyle Korver and a protected draft pick in trade talks centered on Philadelphia 76ers guard Markelle Fultz, according to a report from Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders.

League sources told The Bullshit Whisperer Hoops on Sunday that the Cavs have talked to the Sixers about Fultz’s availability. Kyler added that several other teams have been in touch with Philadelphia as well.

While it’s unclear if the Sixers have decided to trade the No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 draft, Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer reported they seem to be leaning in that direction.

Kyler reported something similar.

“The belief around the 76ers is that no one currently calling the shots in Philly feels any loyalty to him, and with Jimmy Butler in town, there is a reality to the long-term — Joel Embiid, Ben Simmonsand Butler are the long-term future of the team, and Fultz is not in the picture, especially not with a big future contract,” Kyler wrote.

Fultz is currently away from the team as he reportedly undergoes examinations on his bothersome right shoulder in New York.

Fultz is averaging 8.2 points and 3.1 assists this season, but shooting just 42 percent from the field, including 29 percent on 3-pointers. He is also just 21 of 37 on free throws.

Korver, 37, may help the Sixers’ perimeter-shooting needs as the team has entered “win-now” mode with the addition of Butler. As multiple reports have suggested, Fultz may no longer fit their plans.

The salaries for Fultz and Korver match to make a straight-up trade possible.

Wonder what pick they would be dangling?

Does anyone around here want Fultz? Seems like a headache.

Protected second rounder? Maybe thats the throw in.

That's what I was thinking. We aren't giving up a lotto pick for him, which is the only protected 1st rounder we could give up in the next 2 years.

Maybe we have another offer on the table for someone else and it comes with a protected pick of some sort. I'm not sure how I would feel if it was any protected first round pick. I think Korver and 2nd rounder that is reverse protected so the Sixers get a #31-40 actually makes alot of sense.

I really think we are a third team instead of the one contacting the Sixers. I wouldn’t be surprised that we are involved in a Fultz trade, but him coming here would be a mistake. We have moving parts to be a third team.

You could be right. We might also have a third team willing to give up expirings for one of our vets. Like if someone was willing to give us a young player, exprings, and a 2nd round pick for Hill, I could see us pulling the trigger especially if it meant we got Fultz.

No pressure here. He can actually get his teammates involved. I'm tired of Nance leading the team in assists. If he finds his shot again he showed in college that hes a top tier talent.

Now I'm not saying I would give a first for him but if a 37 year old Korver and a 2nd can net you a player who just picked number 1 a year prior I say you take a chance on a talented player.

That pick better be like a top 50 protected 2nd. Just tell him to shoot as much as he’d like here. Maybe he’ll work thought his kinks and we’ll tank in the #process

Fultz is kind of a good experiment for a tanking team. No pressure to win. Unlikely he will produce many wins. But if he gets his head straight all of a sudden you have a valuable asset for the future.

Of all the trade scenarios that I could think of, the one that made me most excited is if we could move Clarkson for an expiring and whatever draft pick to flip for Fultz. We immediately open up minutes for Fultz to run our second unit and a good developmental path for him. Give him a minimum of 25 minutes a game and tell him he can earn his way to being our starting SG if Sexton and him can develop a good chemistry. Tell Sexton and him we want them to be the next Lillard and Mccollum.

Not ideal. Giving up a 1st rounder for him is a no go for me. If they want hood they can have him.
Yeah. If the price is Korver to take a flyer on Fultz then I'm okay with it. Reality is a first from Philly is likely going to be really low. You can occasionally get something decent there but Fultz was drafted #1 for a reason. Doesn't mean his shoulder will ever get figured out or he'll ever be worth anything, but he has more of a chance than someone picked at 24.

Wouldn't want to give up a first rounder and Korver for him. I might give them the Miami pick we got from Boston and Korver.

They needed shooting. Fans there still love Korver. Other teams will be interested in him. Philly has a chance to get Fultz off their books, save a bit of money next year, bring back someone the fans love, and add a deep threat for a guy they've given up on.

No reason to overpay if you're the Cavs.
