Fastlane Tonight - in Cleveland!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm hoping they let Bray Wyatt win the rumble

Why? Roman would just beat them at Mania anyway...

I mean, yeah... but the idea of him outlasting 29 other guys to retain his belt and win a 2nd Royal Rumble in a row is ridiculous. That's even beyond Super Cena level. I can't stand Vince's chubby for this guy and forcing him on us as not only a champion, but as this larger than life character who can withstand insurmountable odds almost on a weekly basis. It's insulting, really. He's not Stone Cold, he's not John Cena. He's not good in the ring and he's even worse on the mic. I enjoyed him as the "muscle" in The Shield but I just hate what WWE is turning him into.

100% agree. I wish the Rock's family would get the hell out of WWE. Lets be honest the family isnt worth a damn outside of the Rock.

Wild Samoans- Solid for what they were (70's - 80's tag team)

Usos- Over pushed because of their lineage. Overweight bums looking to jump off the top rope or onto the outside whenever they can. Honestly they would be better off seperately because atleast they would be able to use some personality as singles.

Umaaga/3 Minute Warning- Overweight bullies

Rikishi- Overweight...and known for dancing, wearing a thong, and putting his ass in people's face.

Roman Reigns- One of two Anoa'i family members who is not overweight (outside of Rocky Johnson).

Nia Jax- Boring as hell, isnt even as good of an enforcer as Tamina can be when used properly. Already 31, so expect WWE to push her to the moon shortly as a huge monster.

Yokozuna- Monster heel with a monster appetite. Could have been an all time great if he would have atleast tried to monitor his weight.

Tonga Kid- Pass

Hell if you look at the family tree, you will see that High Chief Peter Maivia only had one grandson, the Rock, who probably only became what he was because of the Rocky Johnson bloodline that entered the family.

I don't think he's awful in the ring, although he's definitely a "five moves of doom" guy and needs to develop a more diverse offensive. Right now he mostly just punches people. I don't think he's good enough in the ring or on the mic to justify his push, though. He's getting pushed mostly because of his lineage and because Vince masturbates to guys with that look.

Would people rate the new Smackdown announcers performance.

I don't wanna get too hyped like some people I saw on Twitter and say he's the GOAT but I think a more professional, focused thinker was missed a lot in this business since JR left.

Only con I have is that his voice won't appeal to kids. He definitely sounds seasoned

Pros are the guy knew his fucking history about the business. His voice can definitely display the excitement of the match. Michael Cole can make an F5 off the top rope sound just as exciting as Adam Rose tying his shoes and I honestly don't know why he stays on as the main Raw guy.

Also the new guy is a pure play by play guy. I think Byron, booker, King, and JBL are more add my 2 cents in guys. Cole is a play by play guy too but he makes so many easy mistakes it gets to you as a listener after a while.

I don't wanna get too on his sack after one Smackdown but the announcing was good. You can tell he's a fan and he's new blood and is excited. Maybe they should let the new blood run wild in the ring as well. Wrestlers can do whatever they want but a part of me hates when wrestlers do hella movies(Miz, Rock ect) or have other jobs(Dolph Ziggler in standup).

Raw was pretty god damned brilliant. Smackdown will get another record drawing.

Booking is so fucked rn for Mania.

Reigns/HHH w/ Vince/Stephanie
Brock/???
Taker/???
???
???
Becky Lynch/Charlotte

Nakamura is done with NJPW end of the month. Hopefully Styles debuts at the Rumble.

Mania could potentially be disastrous.

It doesn't look good, but there's hope. The main roster still has Owens, Neville, Ambrose, Ziggler, and some other guys who can put on Wrestlemania quality matches. Bryan might be able to come back, which would be huge. The NJPW guys are coming, and there are NXT guys like Balor, Zayn, or Joe that they could feature.

Is Cesaro coming back soon? He'd help.

I'm not saying we'll get great builds to Wrestlemania matches, so the Road to Wrestlemania might be lackluster, but we could get some great matches at Wrestlemania with the current roster they have at their disposal.

Negative Ninnies.

Rumble is shaping up well.

When Mchmahon closes out his storyline. WWE will have fresh blood and a while new dynamic in place when Cena and Rollins return
I might renew my scrip to watch the rumble

I know it probably won't happen, but I hope the WWE has Reigns eliminated early in the Rumble. For one, that automatically makes the match super intriguing because we're a lock to see a new champion. But second, and more importantly, not having Reigns in the match down the stretch will remove a lot of the negative attitude from the crowd and fans we're going to see otherwise. If Roman is there the entire match constantly eliminating people, the crowd is going to turn on him because they'll see him winning as preordained like it was last year. Even if he lasts until the very end, the crowd will probably start cheering for whoever the other guy is just to see something different.

Eliminate Reigns early on (and it's fine to have him get screwed by Trips/Vince/Steph/LoN/whoever to keep him strong) and you don't have to worry about that sort of reaction. For once the crowd is excited by the prospect of something interesting happening, especially if we get some good surprise entrants into the Rumble.

Well it looks like the Royal Rumble card has taken form and looks pretty official

Pre Show Match to determine 2 spots in the Royal Rumble
The Dudley Boyz vs The Ascension vs Mark Henry & Jack Swagger vs Darren Young & Damien Sandow

Divas Title Match
Charlotte (c) vs Becky Lynch

Last Man Standing Match for the Intercontinental Title
Dean Ambrose (c) vs Kevin Owens

United State Title Match
Alberto Del Rio (c) vs Kalisto

Tag Team Title Match
The New Day (c) vs The Uso's

Royal Rumble Match for the WWE WH Title
Roman Reigns (c) vs 29 other superstars (so far announced: Brock Lesnar, Chris Jericho, Sheamus, Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, Big Show, Ryback, Dolph Ziggler, Stardust, Curtis Axel, and the 2 kickoff show winners)

Thoughts?

IMO, not really interested in much other than the IC Title and Royal Rumble match. We've seen Del Rio vs Kalisto and New Day vs Uso's so many times it feels like these two matches are just card filler and to wrap up the respective feuds. Charlotte and Becky Lynch have had a good storyline and the match should be fine for a divas match, but it's not going to pull me away from the 4th quarter of the NFC Championship game unless it's a blowout.

I like the idea of the qualifying match on the pre show, although I would be shocked if either the Dudley Boyz or Mark Henry and Jack Swagger didn't win it. The Ascension are a jobber tag team and Darren Young and Damien Sandow are two jobbers thrown together. Which, what happened to the Primetime Players? All of a sudden Titus O'Neil has been wrestling in singles matches and Darren Young has been absent from TV. I just assumed Young was hurt or something until seeing him paired with Sandow. Strange.

So far only 15 entrants have been announced for the Rumble, which I like because it keeps the element of surprise. It will be interesting to see if they include Owens, Ambrose, New Day, Del Rio, Kalisto, or Uso's. The past few years the WWE has not included guys in the Rumble that had individual matches earlier in the night.

Hoping for the best here. The past two Royal Rumbles have been two of the worst all time, last year especially, so the bar has been set pretty low.

Rumble match is all I care about. Hoping Wyatt wins, if not him than Brock. I'd take HHH but prefer the other two.
