Finnan: CP3 wants out of NO

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fun to think about, but we don't have what it takes.

If he's available though, I'm sure we'll do our due diligence. Still don't think the owner will be willing to trade him.
Yep, agree with all this.

Don't see him being traded and if he is, don't see him traded to us.

It would be pretty crazy to reunite Scott and CP3, though.

Not really. At least not in my opinion.

Tend to agree. But he nailed the Izzo talks. Seems he has a damn good source inside the Cavs, which could mean the Cavs are talking to the Hornets about a CP3 deal. Would explain how a Cavs reporter got the scoop first. But then I really don't see what the Cavs could offer that would land Paul.

He probably just said that so somebody with real knowledge can confirm/deny the report.:chuckles: Brilliant move Bob.

we have to hope that CP3 stays put till the season starts

he is more likely to go somewhere else than the Cavs & could lure lebron to wherever that is

Don't see the point of getting excited.

Even if it's true and Paul want's out of New Orleans, the package offer other teams can offer would be a lot more than what we can offer. We have a few assets, but nothing major enough to pull off a deal for a superstar type player. Unless we can get a third team involved in any type of package, then it's pretty much out of the question.

I hear Larry Hughes is available......

So assuming this article is true and we are able to re-sing LeBron, who would you rather trade for... Paul or Bosh. I ask this out of pure curiosity of the consensus of the board. I assume we only have enough "assets" (meaning mostly salary dump) to trade for one.

I'd personally like to make a hard push for CP3 because of his competitve nature. His competitiveness is unmatched by any other player in the league IMO.

I'd go for Bosh. It would take much less to get him, and he's more complementary to Lebron, whereas LBJ and CP3 have some overlapping skillsets. But mostly because it'd take less to get him.

Paul over Bosh for sure.

Who stated in here yesterday Paul might request a trade to the Cavs since Scott is now our coach? Huh? lol

I sure do believe this. Don't think for one second that LeBron is not talking to Paul. He surely is. And don't think the Cavs don't have the assets to pull off a trade. They do. Will it happen? I'm sure if Paul was forceful enough and got the Hornets to at least start talking to the Cavs about it, it could happen.

This & good bigs are important when trying to win a ring. Getting CP3 would gut our (already thin) front court.

I would love to get Paul to say the very least. I would like to get him over Bosh especially. First off there is the age difference which is 2 years, and the fact that Paul is a far better player on both ends of the court. Bosh would compliment LeBron better, but it doesn't mean that he would make our team better. Paul would do that, we already have Antwan who is a shorter older Bosh with a better shot, and we have a big hole in the backcourt defensively.

This is a part of the driving force behind Scott, trust me. Like I've been alluding to for a couple years, Paul is as key piece to everything ...having both Scott and Lebron together potentially, would be a huge driving force for Paul to demand a trade with CLE being his top destination priority ... But, NO has to be ready and willing. I'm positive that this is part of the thinking going on inside the Cavaliers minds.

When getting Scott, we knew he'd come with a strong recommendation from Chris Paul, whom Lebron would talk to, to find out about what he thinks of Scott as a head coach.
N.O. organization is a mess right now, and very unsettled, and without question Chris Paul is the closest of friends to Lebron in the NBA fraternity. Chris Paul is pretty much seen as true family to Lebron, and they have a strong desire to eventually partner up on many business ventures. So, when contemplating and looking to set up their futures, it would make great sense to try and work together as well, to achieve their goals.

Again though ...three things would need to transpire. Paul demand a trade, specifying a strong desire for Cleveland. NO would have to agree to pursue that said trade, and we'd have to have the pieces needed to achieve it. All three are tough to string together to say the least. BUT, Paul demanding it would be half the battle.
