Ford: Updated Trade Front / Broussard - Cavs talked w/ LAC, WAS & PHO

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Back to Butler for a sec. I want him as much as the next guy, but I just think that other teams can offer more than the Cavs can for him.

For example, if Miami is willing to deal Beasley, they can trade him and Marion to the Wiz for Butler, Etan Thomas, and Mike James, or something like that, as long as the salaries work. If you are Washington, wouldn't you rather get back Beasley, and a larger expiring in Marion, than Wally and JJ? Same with Portland; they have a lot of young talent and a nice expiring in LaFrenz to throw out there.

This always seems to happen around this time of year. We as fans over-value our players to the point where we think they can get an all-star in return. And I understand that concept, because I've done it before too. The problem is that there are several teams with a similar package to what the Cavs can offer, and for some reason, I'm not confident that the Cavs have the top offer. Now don't get me wrong, I would be ecstatic if Ferry would be able to pull of a deal for a talent like Amar'e or Butler, but I'm just not feeling it. Maybe it's still too early in the process, and I'll come around sometime next week :D.

Did it say anywhere that the Cavs were involved in this rumor? All I saw was that 1) Porter may be fired soon and 2) Dudley may be traded soon. Nothing confirmed at all, and nothing involving the Cavs (besides a couple fans' speculation).

We go from talking about Butler/Amare to Dudley?? LOL

Couple things:

-- Suns insider said Dudley met with Steve Kerr today, along with a lawyer and HR... So who knows what that means...
--- Dudley isn't a terrific shooter but he can knock down jumpers.. There isn't a huge sample size but:

50% on jumpers this season, while in Charlotte
38% on jumpers last season, while in Charlotte
46% on jumpers this season, while in Phoenix

He's a career 47% shooter from the field and 71% from the line...

From Hollinger:

Dudley isn't a terrific shooter or defender, but he isn't a terrible one either... He's just solid...

Yeah you could be on to something...I was watching a bobcats game(before the jrich trade) and i was actually impressed with him....he was starting at the 4 with emeka at the 5(those were the days:chuckles:) and he was doing a good job....he was defending, rebounding and even the host was impressed..they said he was a no mistake guy and is just solid player who you would like to have on your team

But why would we bring him here? We already have sasha who plays a similar role

We go from talking about Butler/Amare to Dudley?? LOL

Lol same thing i was thinking. If we can't really make a trade for a significant player i wouldn't be mad at adding someone like Dudley and hopefully getting Joe Smith if he is bought out.

Because Sasha's out for 6-8 weeks =p?

Thats what i'm saying :chuckles:.......If all we end up with is Dudley at the deadline i'd be highly disappointed.

I agree, who gives a shit about Dudley.

Wally, AV, JJ 2 firsts and cash

for

Butler and Jamison

Do you do it? Does Wash? Saves them cap and they get 2 young bigs. We get a couple championships.

Cavs probably say no...

yeah our frontcourt defense would be DOOOOOOOOO DOOOOOOOOOOOO

I got one that I think works for all parties involved:

Wally/JJ/Andy/Boobie/LeBron Jr/Two 1st's

for

Dudley

Phoenix gets cash considerations in the form of child support for LBJ Jr. We obviously get the best player in the deal, though. I mean, Dudley's become a desired piece now? Are you people that desperate for a deal, just for the sake of making a move? Pathetic.

I heard LeBron Jr. has a no trade clause. The clause states he may not be traded without Bryce Maximus James.

Wally/Snow/JJ + 1st For Amare/Barbosa if they accept it cool,if they dont say fu*k em and keep it moving.
