Free Agency Rumors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This isn't a rumor, just me musing, but I wonder if the Cavs are a darkhorse candidate to sign Bynum. He had a great season under Mike Brown two years ago, he will play in any city that has a bank, and a lot of teams are going to pass on him. Should we be one of those teams, wary of his truee passion for basketball, or should we take a chance in a softened market for him. When healthy and motivated, he is an impact player offensively, defensively, on the boards, and blocking shots.

He's going to command a lot more than the MLE. If this happens, I could see Milwaukee going after him, esp if they're going to build around Iversons 1/2 talented twin (not saying they should, just saying I could see them do it with Monta opting out, Red dick being a FA,
I'd normally agree, but if the "market correction" finally starts to happen, he's a 3/17m total type of guy. Watch him get 3/24 now, Lol

Tyreke is now a RFA

Tyreke Evans gets qualifying offer

Updated: June 25, 2013, 7:41 PM ET Associated Press

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- The Sacramento Kings have extended a qualifying offer to guard Tyreke Evans, making him a restricted free agent.

Kings general manager Pete D'Alessandro announced the move Tuesday that allows the team to match any contract offer Evans receives from another team.

Evans averaged 15.2 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 65 games last season.

Evans was drafted fourth overall out of Memphis in 2009 and won the NBA Rookie of the Year that season. He is averaging 17.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 257 games over four seasons with the Kings.

I like Earl Clark. I prefer him over Trob. He is a late bloomer and needs some minutes. He would make the front court much more versatile.

Key words there, because he hasn't been anywhere near either in awhile and he doesn't seem too keen on changing the course any time soon.

Earl Clark won't be here now. Keep an eye on Zaza Pachulia as a vet big. Georgian player. We have the Georgian head coach. Close with Z I think too. I wouldn't mind throwing a deal at Splitter to test San Antonio.

So in order of priority, out FA/trade targets should be C, SF, and backup PG

It sounded like from Grants presser that they view Karasev as starting out as a SG. Wonder what that does for Ellington. The could decline his option, pick it up and pay him for one year, or trade him. Also, gave to imagine Speights sees the writing on the wall and opts out. If he does, let him walk or S&T him if an opportunity presents himself. If he opts in, trade him ASAP

Center options include: Kaman, Jefferson, Blatche(?), Bynum, Pek(to an offer sheet), Oden
SF options could include: Granger, Brewer, Iggy, Tony Allen, Aminu,
Vet PG: resign Livingston, Maynor(just non tendered, now an UFA)

Last thought is on Horford: With the two guys Atlanta took being so long term developmental types, after they strike out on the big FA's, I wonder how long it will take Horford to ask out behind the scenes? We'll have a host of young players and future draft picks to offer Ferry

Maybe Cavs look at Bynum. After all, he was linked to us before.

If anything, sign a wing player, but I wouldn't mind if the Cavs simply attempt to resign Livingston and just roll with the youngsters. If you can find a taker for Speights then great (assuming he exercises his option) or perhaps pickup a veteran wing player and move Gee. I just don't see the Cavs being a major player in free agency and I don't see a ton of assets they'd be willing to move that other teams would want outside of potentially Anderson Varejao or Tristan Thompson down the road. Wouldn't be surprised to see them stand pat.

Starters:

Irving
Waiters
Gee
Thompson
Varejao

Bench:

Livingston
Ellington
Karasev
Bennett
Zeller
Speights
Felix

3 Roster fillers

If the goal is Wiggins great lineup, if the goal is playoffs.... good luck keeping AV healthy and Waiters and Thompson improving greatly and Bennett being worth the #1 pick.

Keep in mind the East is going to be absolutely terrible next year
