Moratorium On Signing Free Agents Pushed Back?

St. Paul Pioneer Press - The St. Paul Pioneer Press is reporting that the moratorium on signing free agents probably will be pushed back from Friday, July, 22nd to August 1st.

An official announcement could come soon. The new collective bargaining agreement has not been ratified, causing the delay.

It has a big impact. The Cavs are playing by different rules than IND in the courting of Sarunas. IND has a MLE while the Cavs need to fit his contract cleanly under the cap. They dont' know what this cap is and now they wont until at least Aug 1st. It is tough working with an unknown target.

That said, I still think the salaries that have been reported are overstated by the media....I think there is room for Sarunas and we will hear in 24 hours.

This is no bullshit. I was told by an extremely reliable source. The league haven't put the new CBA in black and white yet, so the deal is still not official.
