Frye to Suns 2/yr $3.8 mill (pg. 37)

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

I was hoping we could get frye for the bae. Frye, parker resign AV, save some mle to sign someone at the deadline that is bought out. After adding shaq, show me a team that has improved as much as us while giving up so little.

Boston and LA.

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

Im down with signing Frye for the BAE

Yeah, agreed. It's 2 million dollars a year for two years. You're not going to get anything better than Frye for the BAE.

Remember, this guy had a big rookie season in NY. He's still young. Then he was traded and delegated to the bench where he no longer got minutes and became a third stringer. And Windy said we've tried to trade for him two seasons in a row. The last time there was a guy the Cavs have tried to trade for, who had a good season, followed be being sent to a team where you ended up a third stringer in a trade, his name was Delonte West.

For the BAE, it's far from a bad signing.

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

I think Frye would be a good pickup for the BAE.

Who else are they going to sign for BAE? Anthony Parker, Childress, Kleiza, Ariza, McDyess will get all or most of the MLE.

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

Boston and LA.

Boston added wallace and might loose big baby...So you are saying that rasheed is better than Shaq, parker and frye...heck you are saying he is better than shaq?

And LA gained Artest but lost Ariza...no other moves except they could loose odom too....so that moves is better than adding shaq? much less parker?

Dumb overreattionary statement.

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

Yeah, Frye would be great for the BAE.

Except that, there's no chance in hell he signs for the BAE, so it's going to take at least some of the mid-level, which gives this a big thumbs down in my opinion.

Seriously, no 6-11 25 year old is going to go for the BAE. Get that idea out of your heads.

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

Agreed, even though I have wanted him all offseason, he is not better than av, I want him as our 4th big for cheap to hold the place until our sophmores gain experience. I want him to come off the bench and hit some wide open shots and stretch the floor. I think AV can start just fine next to shaq and Lebron, especially if we have a dead eye shooter at sg like parker. As a 4th big, its ok his defense is like charmin.

No he is better than the brazilian mop. AV is not good at all.

He averaged 4 points a 2 rebounds last year. Get the idea that he's worth more than the BAE out of your head.

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

Parker, Frye, and Kleiza? It's certainly not going to grab any headlines, but we'd be pretty deep...

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

For the BAE, it is acceptable, but the guy is still a stiff. He is better than your average stiff though.

If it is for any of the MLE, it would be a terrible signing.

This is what I'm thinking. Especially with so many teams being rumored as interested.

Odds are one of them will go above the BAE

If Ferry splits up the MLE to get Frye :thumbdown

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

Boston and LA.

LA let Ariza go to sign Artest, an improvement.

If reports are true, Boston lost Powe and Big Baby while adding Sheed and Grant Hill, arguably a marginal improvement assuming two mid to late thirty something injury prone players can stay healthy.

The Cavaliers traded Pavlovic and Wallace for Shaq, a huge improvement in talent and Cleveland, unlike LA and Boston retains the flexibility of a large expiring contract.

To me, the Magic got weaker while the Celtics tread water and the Lakers showed a modest improvement. The Cavs got a whole lot better and still haven't cashed in their MLE/BAE chips.

Advantage - Cavaliers.

I'm willing to bet that a team like the suns would give him 2.5 of the mid-level. He showed something in the past and that alone will be enough to get an offer over the BAE from someone. It only takes one person offering i couple thou above the 1.9 million BAE to get a mid-level deal.
