Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

Frye > Ben Wallace

Frye signing the BAE isn't a bad move IMO. He'll be lucky to get 10 minutes a game and he's another big body. At this point assuming Andy re-signs the Cavs front line is def much better then it was last year. I can't be mad at that.

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

I'm Thinking We sign Frye for the BAE and then Sign Marion for the Full MLE...:king:

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

I'm not a huge Channing Frye fan or anything, but for the BAE it would be a fine depth signing.

Most importantly, it would leave the Cavaliers will the full MLE to play with still. They could use that on one player, or split it between two players and use some on Danny Green's contract if need be.

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

Agreed, even though I have wanted him all offseason, he is not better than av, I want him as our 4th big for cheap to hold the place until our sophmores gain experience. I want him to come off the bench and hit some wide open shots and stretch the floor. I think AV can start just fine next to shaq and Lebron, especially if we have a dead eye shooter at sg like parker. As a 4th big, its ok his defense is like charmin.

This is what people fail to realize, thank you for saying it. All that clogging up the lane talk is over-rated. It will just lead to more LeBron assists if teams leave Shaq or Andy to keep him out of the lane. Andy finished well at the rim last season. Shaq and Andy are both mobile enough to pick and roll. Having a PF who never enters the lane is one way to go about things, but not the only, and possibly not the best.

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

I'm very meh on this move. I think this is unfortunately opening the door for Andy to come back here and start, which I'm not really fond of either.

Interesting TidBit from Windy's Article concerning the meeting

"Frye was an All-Rookie performer with the New York Knicks in 2005-06, and the Cavs have attempted to trade for him several times over the past few years. "

Any last words for NotThisAgain? Say them quick...

Re: Windy: Cavs in talks for Frye

You guys are idiots, a young PF will not sign for the BAE. I think it would take more than that.

I recall Ferry pursuing Frye when he was still with the Knicks. Similarly he also pursued Delonte for several years before acquiring him.
