Happy 60th Birthday To The GOAT.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I remain unimpressed.

That Nets team would be hands down the best defensive team in the league today without question…

Look at the footwork, the overall fundamental skill….It’s night and day…

It’s like Jordan batted against a pitcher and LeBron bats against a batting tee… You can literally just throw his 29ppg in today’s game with scores in the 120’s, 130’s— you have essentially 18 guys averaging over 25ppg… back then like 5 or 6…

All these inflated stats are meaningless…

I feel like you and I would have a few beers and do this back and forth for like 3 hours straight. It's an impossible argument, based on different eras, rule enforcement, modern nutritional/recovery treatments, etc. I still say I think LBJ would eat MJ up if they played in the same era... but there is never going to be any way to prove it!

For me, still - Bigger, stronger, better passer and rebounder, more versatile defender, better 3pt shooter = all LeBron.

I also think the "6-0" argument is bogus because it discounts all the times Jordan lost before the finals, the years LeBron dragged rag-tag teams to the finals (2007 and 2018 to be specific) and the years Jordan legit quit the league (could be interpreted as mental weakness).

Perhaps…

I just don’t see how today’s numbers are more impressive when you have guys like Harden & Westbrook averaging triple doubles when there’s guys like LeBron & Durant & Curry & Luka & Embiid & Jokic that are actually better players…

Jordan was essentially the best player on the best team putting up the best numbers and having the most signature moments of anyone while enjoying the most success….

All of it is hard to quantify and I get that — and LeBron can have all the career achievement awards and stats and that’s amazing— it’s just not the same or has the same effect…

It’s weird when you see their contemporaries that crossed those eras like Kobe & KG & Duncan & McGrady & Pierce & Carter & Iverson and most suggest the league was better back then and the competition was stiffer (and that’s on the back half of those 3 peats) and then most of the younger kids today identify with Kobe and his skillset and his mentality and his dominance (which is the closest to MJ’s)….

To me that stuff isn’t coincidental…It lends me to believe that was I saw with MJ was the best… Not overall numbers or seasons played but between like 1990 and 1998 there’s been nobody better…From a numbers, dominance and success standpoint when you combine it all…

You have to admit that, at the moment, LeBron has a leg up on MJ.

When you’re talking the GOAT of backcourt blocks— the conversation starts and ends right here… 92-93 MJ was PEAK perimeter player blocking…
