Hard Knocks

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah this show is pretty great. Callaway looked like he was going to break down at practice following the police stop. I could only imagine he was thinking he'd already thrown away his shot at the NFL just months after being drafted. I'm pulling for the guy and I hope Landry does take on a mentor role for him.

I'm really interested to see the stuff next week with Coleman.

I was a fan of Hard Knocks before this season so the Browns being featured is just icing on the cake. It's reaching near Game of Thrones level of anticipation for the next episode week to week.

Some good thoughts in there.. I absolutely loved this episode. Hard Knocks tends to get better after week 1, when preseason games start, roster moves occur (Coleman), etc. It sure didn't disappoint.

This is a special experience to get such an amazing insider look at our team. We won't get it again so I'm cherishing each episode.

I love that Tyrod and Hue have a good relationship and Hue took his suggestion to call guys out. I don't see that as a negative on Hue at all, quite the contrary. Tyrod is our leader in 2018 and Hue is letting him lead.

Baker is the real m f'ing deal. There just isn't any doubt. He has command of the huddle, is a leader on the sideline... loved that he was called out for not working as hard as Tyrod was and he instantly fixed it. All of these rookies must learn how to be a pro and he is no different.

Myles Garrett is an interesting cat... poetry off the field but he got MEAN on it. Did anyone notice his eyes in that scuffle? The league is on notice with this guy.. he's going to wreck some dudes.

Buffalo fans that watched that episode must wonder what they are even bothering with Corey for. That is some weak, weak stuff. What exactly has he done to be so entitled to request a trade because he was demoted?

I'm rooting so hard for Calloway. He clearly had a troubled upbringing, and it can be a lot to conquer that. He just oozes talent - but has a long way to learn how to be a pro. Here is to hoping that Landry will take Haley's request seriously. I have no doubt he will.

I think editing can make any of these coaches look bad or good, honestly. I try to keep that in mind while watching these episodes. I didn't get as down on Hue as many others did last week, and I the same applies this week the other way. But of course it is good to see some fire from him.

Njoku is going to beast this year and I am targeting him in my fantasy league. I think he's going to be a breakout NFL star.

Overall, regarding the outlook of this years team, I think it's completely obvious there is an energy and vibe that we expect to win games.. many games. However, there are lingering loser habits that have to be broken (and in some cases just simply young players learning what it means to be a pro). It probably will make for a wild roller coaster of a season.. but the foundation is built. And it's such an awesome opportunity to have the 'early times' documented like this. Great job HBO (even if you screwed up with that Tampa Bay thing as a lead in..).

This show is unbelievable.

Todd Haley pulling Jarvis aside during the Giants game and asking him to take Callaway under his wing was amazing. “I don’t care if he’s gotta live at your house. Larry Fitzgerald would do it.”

Just awesome.

And the day after Callaway’s incident it was wild to see how distracted he was and how every coach and player could see it in his face. Crazy.

Honestly, I wonder if they had already known and were testing him. I'm not certain of that, but it wouldn't surprise me.

Biggest take away?

The trolled us with the OBJ stuff.

Something that struck me when watching this was how much better I feel about the upcoming season having seen Hue operating on the sidelines of the preseason game as a Head. Coach. No giant play chart, just being in the flow of the game, observing, rallying the team, making strategic decisions. At one point there's a 4th down, he waves off the punt team and he just says into the headset "Todd, go for it," and I thought. "There. That's how it should be." It's insane to me that you would have a coach to both make that decision AND decide in the next nanosecond which exact play to call in that moment.

The players gotta play, but taking play calling away from Hue should be a huge benefit.

Hailey will make for a very good interim HC after the bye. This team needs a kick in the ass and hue won’t provide that.

Todd Haley is going to be the best HC during the new-Browns era.

But honestly, everyone looked good, including Hue. Only guy I cannot stand is Brogi (or whatever the fuck he goes by). The dude is a whiny frat bro. Yuck.

Jarvis and Tyrod will be the MVPs with their leadership on offense. Same with Kirksey on defense. I'm a big fan of what this team will look like.

Coleman won’t be getting a second contract that dudes a joke

Guys ffs it’s CALLAWAY. GET IT RIGHT OR PAY THE PRICE DONKEY LIPS.

Brobie is great. Hope he lands on the PS.

Devon Cajuste, how can ya not pull for this guy?

"It's the second most unbelievable thing I've seen. His dad just puts his fingers to his mouth and goes *tweet tweet*, then his son puts his hand to HIS mouth and does *tweet tweet* right back."

-Probably Hue

Thought episode 2 was great but generally speaking, Gregg Williams makes me cringe.

If you made a football movie, he's seriously the stereotypical coach with the stereotypical lines. "This ain't college football durka durr".

This may be a critique of the editing specifically but he comes off as incredibly corny. It's especially hard in contrast to Haley, who has such a great personality.
