Hard Knocks

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For once it wasn't me getting the ignore button! Hallelujah!

Honestly though Coleman being gone is probably a good thing at the end of the day. Louis is out for the year, so that gives guys like Higgins and Ratley something to prove since there is a spot for them to earn now.

I thought it was weird when Coleman asks "Why am I running with the twos?" Hue immediatley says "Go ask coach Haley."

Hue has input over that kind of stuff, no? Why couldnt he just answer him instead of passing it off? Or is that the normal thing for a coach to do?

I thought Hue did that because he couldn’t believe that Coleman actually walked into his office acting like a petulant 5 year old. Like I think Hue was literally amused at the emotional infantilism and entitlement of Coleman to walk in and act like he’s above being a #3 WR or above being moved to the 2nd team for a while.

I also assume that Hue and Saunders have been harping on Corey for his effort, prep, and route running for two years and by telling him to ask Todd about it, he’s basically saying, look, to ask the new guy, they guy who has successfully worked with Antonio Bryant and JuJu the past couple of years and he’ll tell you why your play doesn’t merit first team snaps at this point.

Haley clearly didn't like the guy's effort and didn't seem like he wanted to put up with him for very much longer.

A reminder? Haley has crafted some receivers into Pro Bowlers and even coached some HOF'ers (T.O., Fitzgerald). He probably didn't want to spend much longer than he had to when one considers the other talent on the roster.

He probably loves Landry because he seems insanely coachable and a potential leader on this team.

He probably really wants to love Callaway because he possesses a great deal of potential talent.

I imagine he knows Gordon has talent (as does the rest of the league).

Coleman...I mean look at what the guy was being criticized for:
-No trust with the QB
-Poor route running
-Poor effort
-No seperation
-"Giving up on a ball that is on your fucking chest"
-"Not mentally in it"
-"Easily Distracted"

The 3 mentioned are the type of guys he can coach up. Coleman was just the epitome of a lost cause and with seemingly some sort of mental block? It wasn't going to be fair towards the other players on the team to keep investing that effort into him.

A guy that has been the offensive coordinator with the fucking Steelers knows what he's doing.

The closing segment with the music in the background seriously brought me to tears, especially when Cajuste hugs his father.

I love that damn song

The Cajuste story is a good one for Hard Knocks, but there’s just no way he makes this team.

He can’t block for shit, he gets pushed around, and he’s always whining and gasping loudly like he’s dying when walking back to the huddle.

Just not an NFL football player.

It looked like he was playing with a separated shoulder during that montage, so I can see where the whining came from.

Honestly, it's a fair question. If I have staff come to me asking things their boss knows the answer to, I'm immediately wondering why they broke the chain of command by coming directly to me. Also, it's sorta disrespectful to have these conversations without the immediate supervisor knowing.

Higgins has quietly looked fantastic.

I suspect it's a chain of command type of thing. The first person an offensive player should talk to if he has an issue is the Coordinator. And Coleman "running with the twos" may have just been something Haley did that particular day without even checking with Hue.

Good riddance to Coleman. Guys like that destroy any chance of turning around a culture.

When I hear the folks talking about how the Browns were dumb to let go of the "talent" like Coleman, it reinforces my thought that some fans just see players as livestock. As if some players' malignant attitude & work ethic don't matter at all and the only important thing is their potential yield.

(I am in a bashing Hue mood)

Okay, but still, I just do not believe that Hue should throw Haley under the bus. There is an obvious answer... we all know it. Everyone at camp was saying that Landry, Higgins, and Callaway looked better.

I do agree with the CoC point, generally, though. I just feel like there is a better way to handle this.

I completely understand that, and I appreciate him gutting it out in an attempt to make the roster.

But don’t moan like a dying cow.

You don’t have to scream loudly often heading back to the huddle looking for attention. It seemed like a show to me and rubbed me wrong.
