Haslem agrees to stay with miami..

Re: haslam agrees to stay with miami..

Donyell would be a fine addition to the team. We'd still be a bit "soft" upfront but I think we could make up for it in talent. Marshall is a great spot up shooter and rebounds well. Him and AV off the bench would be solid

Re: haslam agrees to stay with miami..

Wouldn't that be funny to steal another player off of Washingtons radar? That would easily get a rivalry going, we actually kinda have one with Washington now since we jacked Hughes from them. But whats the real difference between Marshall and Antoine Walker? Brown wouldn't let walker toss up shots all day and he has a better overall game and wont cost us all that much more..

Re: haslam agrees to stay with miami..

haha wouldn't it be nice to trade Drew Sasha Newble for Reggie Evans and Jerome James and Flip? Flip is better then Sasha we dump newble's large salary get some big rebounding bodies which we need. Flip is instant offense too so he'd be the threat off the bench.

Walker will demand a starting position here. Marshall will not.
Walker will demand the ball. Marshall will not.

Re: haslam agrees to stay with miami..

Walker is better then Gooden, Brown won't allow him to jack up shots neither would Bron. Anyone who comes here should know that if they piss off LeBron and won't play within the team that they will find themselves on 1 of the 29 other teams.

Yea, sure, of course, he'll be put in his place. But can we afford that? If we pay a player 5 mil a year, we want him to play. He'll have an important role here. Sure, bench him. But we're still paying him money that could have gone elsewhere. We're still strapped to his 5 mil salary. And he's still filling up that roster spot. If Walker is here, Gooden is likely out. Who'll be in his place? AV can play those minutes, but there's going to be a lot to be split between Z, Varejao and the other backup. If we want to contend now, we don't want a potential cancer on the team.

Walker is better than Gooden, yes, but from what I hear, Gooden is much more content with his role, no matter what it is, and is willing to learn. We'll see how things go.

marshall is a role player- that is why the jazz loved him when they had him.

alot of times they would go small and have D-MARSH and MALONE on the floor together at the PF/C positions. it worked out well because of their hustle.

walker cries all the damn time, and he is in love with the 3... and even though slow11 was the number 1 offensive rebounder last year, most of those were from his own misses, (he would just keep tapping it until it went in) it's not like slow11 is a dominant offensive rebounder..

point is, we need somebody at the 4 that will mainly be on the block, donyell can do both, but unlike 'toine he doesn't live beyond the arc..
he does it mainly on pick n roll situations, or when the floor needs to be spread like the last 30 of a quarter..

Re: haslam agrees to stay with miami..

Walker is very talented but his game can be far more infuriating than Drew Gooden on his worst day. I've never been a fan of Walker's game and I think he plays a far more damning brand of losing basketball than Gooden. No thanks.

Re: haslam agrees to stay with miami..

Walker if he played the same role as Marshall would be a better player but the dude needs the ball in his hand and he's a VOLUME shooter. He's never shot a great % but he's chucked it up enough that he makes a lot of them

Marshall is a much better shooter from a % sense and shooting form. In addition he can catch and shoot and doesn't demand the ball. I would prefer Marshall over Walker any day of the week

Well we can debate this all we want but at the end of the day it's Ferry's call. I just wish we'd hear something on Sarunas I'm getting sick of waiting and waiting and hearing nothing except for Cavaliers said to be interested in Lithuanian PG Sarunas Jasikevicius who was the best man in Z's wedding..

All signs point to the Cavs not looking for a big scorer at PF so that rules put Walker for sure and Shareef most likely.

Marshall is 32 and probably only has a few good years left. I think the Cavs will look at a younger player at PF.

I'd be ok with Reggie Evans if the price is right. He's not worth big money and I have a feeling that he'll get paid more than he deserves.
I think Evans is getting overrated a little. He is a good rebounder but he has no offensive game, is a poor FT shooter, doesn't block shots and is really just an average defensive player.

The Cavs might be better off taking chances on some young PF's to try to find a Haslem or Evans of their own since those 2 were both undrafted FA's.
They have Olumide Oyedeji on their summer league roster who is a physical athletic PF who was a 2nd round pick a few years back and who has supposedly improved his overall game in Europe the past 2 years.

I'd also consider David West of the Hornets who I brought up before and could possibly be acquired cheaply since the Hornets are so deep at PF.
