Thought this would be an interesting thread, if it needs to be combined with the LeBron wins MVP thread then that's fine.

Ernie poses the question: "How many MVPs will LeBron win?"

Chuck says 5.

Kenny says that the expectations are now that he should win 60 games, 25-30 points per night, etc, and that will hurt him and he'll end up with 3.

C Webb says "close to 5 or maybe more... I look at it this way, in the next 5-7 years, unless there's a new LeBron, which I wouldn't be on, it's only Kobe and Wade, maybe Dwight Howard or CP3."

Kenny: "the guys you don't expect could come in and get it, for example if Carmelo goes from 50 wins to 63 he could steal it, like Dirk got it one year now he doesn't even come close (paraphrased)"

C Webb: "The thing that's different about LeBron is that LeBron is the best all-around player since Magic, so even if he doesn't score 40 he still makes his team better, there's no other player like that."

Chuck (don't read if you don't want to hear NY): "I really hope LeBron stays in Cleveland, but if he goes to NY, he's going to recruit players to play there and he's gonna have one of the two or three best records every year, so it could be seven in NY but I hope he stays in Cleveland his entire career."

Personally, I don't agree with Kenny, what do voters expect besides the best record and being the best player on that team?

Assuming continued regular season success, I'd say 4-6.

I'm glad Chuck hopes he stays but that is a really dumb point about LeBron winning more MVPs if he goes to NY. really dumb.

BTW I say 3 MVPs. Sorry I dont know all their names, I hate TNT's NBA coverage usually, but the dude talking about how the MVP favors cats who UNEXPECTEDLY do their thing had a good point.

Kenny said that.

Chuck was backing us tonight. He really does want Lebron to stay, and thinks he will.

Also, he wasn't saying that going to NY would get him more MVPs, he was just saying that whole major media pressure stuff would drastically affect it, both ways depending on what happened.

He was also saying that players would flock there to play with Lebron. I agree that players would be more likely to go to NY than Cleveland, but I can't imagine with teams in Memphis, Minnesota, and Milwaukee that there aren't some guys willing to play in Cleveland because they want to win. Look at how happy Mo is.

5 MVPs and 4 Finals MVPs.

How long is a piece of string?

I think about 6 maybe more. I mean we have never seen this type of talent before, some may point to MJ but i'll point to the fact that LeBron is about 50 pounds heavier and 2 inches taller and can bang with the biggest players in the league. He may win an MVP at 32 just because he will be more of a PF with 3pt range and amazing handles and will still most likely be faster than most of the players at his position. I could see him getting four at SF and two at PF just because he is that special (also winning 10 championships in a row helps :king:)

I feel like at least 4, especially since it seems like he should at least be picking up his second one by now. The sky is the limit so I won't put a cap on it but he's 24, continues to get better, is the best int he league already, and even has room to grow in some areas. This was a marquee season and to think that he could build off this going forward is downright scary for the rest of the league.

he should be able to win more than 5. Charles said 5 because that's what Jordan won. However, Jordan had 3 problems

- after his first MVP at age 25, his team wasn't very good the next two years
- he left basketball for 2 years
- he retired while still playing at an MVP level because of Krause's ego

without these issues, Jordan easily could have had 7 or 8 MVPs.

LeBron also has these things going for him
- he got his first MVP a year younger
- You can nitpick about a skill here or there, but he has basically reached peak Jordan's level of play on both ends of the court (based on advanced stats such as PER, win shares, etc, as well as awards voting) while still having room to grow his game.
- his team is very, very good and if he stays in cleveland, he has a chance to have a 12 year dynasty caliber team (through age 36) after this year. While we have some aging players, we also have a pretty young core and shouldn't have too much trouble finding pieces to plug in as once we start winning titles, players will want to be a part of that.
- there are no ego issues with management

Stay healthy and keep working on improving his game and 5 could be the low side.

I say he wins 6 League MVPs and wins 7 Finals MVPs and 9 titles total.

1 more than Jordan, 1 More than Jordan, Ties Horry in Titles.

I think he could win a hefty bunch, but steve nash might have cost him. REmember when steve won the mvp then went and put up better efficiency the following year, loads of people struggled with giving it to him again, this might sour people.

There are only 5 legit mvp players at the moment though so unless rose picks up his game quickly or the magic oust the cavs and then put up 65 wins next season it becomes a three horse race, well wade played his best season but his team sucks so hes out. Kobes tema lead the league almost the whole year, but he finished a distant second.

looks like next year could be brons year too!
