Hue Jackson and Todd Haley Fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Browns are not in last place.

There was appx 40 seconds left.. PLENTY of time to even throw down the middle if they so chose. And 43 yards out in those conditions quite clearly was not effective field goal range.

Not really sure how any of that is debatable really.
Because, again, Tyrod was inaccurate and off all game. Throwing the ball was already an adventure and Tyrod was taking sacks like crazy.

You cannot throw the ball when you are already in range. Too many bad things could have happened.

Way to commit to the run, finally. Albeit at the wrong time, but at least he stuck to it, until we should have ran it and he threw it.

If you don’t have enough confidence in your QB and offensive line to throw at least two passes (and frankly they could have thrown four and tried to score a touchdown if they wanted) with that field position with that much time on the clock with the score tied, then you have the wrong Quarterback on the field. The Quarterback that the coach has committed to for the season, by the way.

His performance up to that period of time was meaningless. He needed to get his shit together and gain 10 yards in 36 seconds to have a chip shot field goal.

Those conditions were terrible for a 40+ yard field goal. Everyone in the stadium knew what was going to happen and I’d bet the team did too.

That was awful clock mismanagement and it showed a lack of confidence in personnel. It was bad coaching...again.

The team put themselves in position to win in spite a lot of bad mistakes that I won’t bother to rehash and the coach cost them the game with a fucking terrible, inexcusable decision.

I'm going to be honest, as I read the Browns section and all the anger, I think of the Bruce Springsteen video for Secret Garden. If you were alive during a time I like to call "The Late 90's" you know every girl was obsessed with Jerry McGuire. They loved the video and soundtrack to the theme song by Bruce, which for some reason had a lot of fights and making up overdubbed from Renee Zelwigger and Tom Cruise. So as I read this thread, it's kind of like this in my head:

She'll let you in her house
If you come knocking late at night

Hue’s biggest problem is his inability to admit fault on anything. It will be the reason he never gets another job.

She'll let you in her mouth
If the words you say are right

She'll let you deep inside
But there's a secret garden she hides

I feel like we're in this same exact territory with the Cavs. We all want the teams to succeed, but at the same time it's pretty plain to see that both these guys are in way over their heads. So, would we rather lose, potentially leading to coaching changes, or win, and possibly extend their tenures as head coach? Classic catch 22. I definitely feel like Haslam is enough of a dumbass where if we manage to rattle of a few wins here and there he'd see it as the coaching staff making progress and just keep everything as is. Like many of you i'm hoping for the old mid season firing and just promote Haley to HC and see what he's got.

Tyrone Lue won a championship as a player and played and coached on winning teams before. He's been the head coach for the second best team in the league since 2015. he won a championship as a head coach here. I get the sentiment but it's a really bad comp. Hue Jackson is 1-31-1. Tyrone Lue could easily get another head coaching job if The Cavs were to let him go. Hue Jackson should not be leading anybody's team.

It's not a catch 22 at all. It's a travesty. Hue Jackson should be fired and we don't need to feel bad about it.

Points well taken, it sure pays to have the King . . .

I need you to provide the following. Ranking in order of first to last of the following songs and provide a review of each in four words or less. You are permitted to skip if you’ve never heard the song somehow.

Secret Garden, I’m on Fire, Spirit in the Night, Prove It all Night, Jungleland, Streets of Philadelphia, Brilliant Disguise, Born in the USA, Hungry Heart, Dancin in the Dark

This is not a trick question and I’m not even saying I like, love or hate each song. I will say after we’ve each completed the exercise. I skipped deep cuts and went with likely songs anyone would know.

Others welcome to participate if they’d like.

But even then Lue is still at lest a decent coach in the NBA. How many current NFL head coaches are worse than Hue Jackson?

Took me a few minutes to give a thoughtful response...

1. Jungleland - Live version from 70s.
2. Prove it all Night - Live or why bother?
3. I'm on Fire - That's baby making music.
4. Born in the USA - Nebraska session version only.
5. Dancin' in the Dark - Cheesy bad dancing video.
6. Hungry Heart - Earworm and well written.
7. Spirit of the Night - Saxophone is nice.
8. Streets of Philadelphia - Overplayed and overrated.
9. Brilliant Disguise - Drew blank on it.
10. Secret Garden - Trash... moistens your girl?

The problem I see is that the team is still so disorganized in so many facets and that falls on the coach. Penalties...clock management...controlling the other coaches. I really feel we've seen enough of Hue...nobody can tell me this team doesn't have talent and I know its one game but if we still see the same problems in a few weeks it's time to act...seems like a nice guy but just may not have the qualities to be an NFL head coach

The team has no accountability because the coach doesn't

Hungry Heart - "plodding, repetitive crapfest." I'd sooner listen to ELO. Or ELP. Or BTO, for that matter.

Born to Run always gets the sneer of hipster condescension, but it is a great song. Being overplayed doesn't change that. So that's No. 1. Oh yeah, four words....

"Deserves iconic rock status."

No. 2 is Jungleland. "Inventive - for Springsteen, anyway."

Rest of them are "meh."
