Hue Jackson and Todd Haley Fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean, he might do fine. He knows Dalton. Literally all he will be doing is calling plays and at some point in his career (pretty recently) he was...good at it or at least serviceable.

Some men are built for command.

Others are best suited as staff officers. Hue, with all his backstabbing and not accepting responsibility is decidedly the latter.

And that isn’t a knock. Every Napoleon needs a Berthier, a Bismarck a Von Moltke. @The Human Q-Tip

I’m fairly certain that Bill Lazor would have a problem with that, being OC and all.

Hue isn’t there to call plays. Hue is there to attempt to resuscitate his career as a mere staffer.

Marvin is doing a favor for a friend. He’s also trying to pick his brain on the Browns as they play two games against us and they are going to be in a tight playoff race down the stretch.

Christ I’m an idiot. I assumed they’d dismissed him since Hue was being brought in. Only Monday and I’m on a fuckin roll boys.

Offense looks completely revamped? It's very fun to watch all the options that the Browns have on offense with Mayfield leading the charge. He finally has players to pass it to??

Can somebody explain the changes?

Even the defense is better. What are they specifically doing different on the defensive end?

1. The offense is staying on the field longer. Time of possession is key, it gives the defensive guys time to rest.
2. Guys are getting healthy. We had Joe Shoebert, Randall, and Ward all back from injury.
3. We seem to be playing our depth more. How many guys did you hear making plays agaisnt Atlanta that you hadn’t even heard of before? Zetter and Smith?

What they don't need is Grouchy. Which may very well be Mr Jackson's equivalent. :chuckle:

Nice reference. I think Grouchy was effective at times with independent command, including a nice victory at Wavre, even if it was meaningless.

I'd say Hue is more Horatio Gates.

Not only was he incompetent, and took credit for victories he barely participated in, but he actually tried to stab Washington in the back with false accusations and take his job. He also threw Benedict Arnold, the true hero of Saratoga, under the bus on a couple occasions which eventually led Arnold to turn on the Americans. Sound familiar?

Also, fled the field at his last defeat, and didn't stop running until he reached....Cincinnati?

What are the odds Hue is Cincy's coach next year?

Like, we could be seeing our rise coupled with Cincy tanking. Add in Baltimore changing coaches and we may finally be seeing the AFC North descending into an average, at best, division.
