Hue Jackson and Todd Haley Fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's tremendously rare to dismiss coaches mid-season or bring in new coaches mid-season. Promoting from within to take more responsibility is really the only option unless somebody on the staff beats a British woman on an off day. Also can't stress this enough : There's a considerable talent gap between the Browns and the other teams they have played so far. This team is still in the early stages of the rebuild without veteran contributions.
Keys they are all getting fired in 9 weeks. They are not in the early stages of anything.

Probably. Call it the Chris Grant Era. They accumulated future assets as a front office and liquidated veterans. The 2016 and 2017 Browns were a series of Samardo Samuels and Semih Erdens while the stash of future picks grew.

Hue never had much to work with. I doubt the coaches they bring in will be any better. I'm simply stating they won't being in new coaches mid-season. That rarely happens in the NFL because of terminology alone. This is also a case where a team didn't have enough talent on the field to do much more than develop a base of players.

It'd be one thing to preach stability, but Hue doesn't preach it at all. Starts Kizer again, then pulls him. It's stuff like that. It makes him look like he's just winging it, and doesn't have any idea or direction where to take this team next.

I could forgive the poor record, a little, if he's not falling flat on his face in every other regard.

Two years in the NFL is a lot. He's been given plenty of time to show something. A winning team? No. But some direction, something positive, anything.

All we've manage to do is be worse than ever.

Hue's offense looks pretty bad. That's supposed to be his calling card.

Let him coach the season out, to another number one overall pick. Thank him for his tanking services, then show his fat ass the door.

Hue Jackson does have some similarities to Tank Commander Byron Scott too :chuckle:

Oh god does that make Myles Garrett Kyrie Irving?

I honestly don't care about the record. That's not what makes him bad. It's his horrible QB management, horrible time/clock management, his refusal to use an OC, etc that make him a bad coach.
I think he badly needs to get a win just for the morale of the team. If we had 1 or 2 wins the entire vibe would be different right now. Close losses are still just losses.

I have no problem with his QB management other than if he had input in this team failing to keep some kind of veteran QB as a bridge. But benching Kizer when nobody in the huddle has any confidence that he won't give the ball away? Benching him is the best choice of all bad options. I'm okay with him holding Kizer accountable by yanking him when he fucks up until he shows he can get through at least one game without throwing an INT.

I do agree he has sucked with the lack of discipline, the penalties, the clock management, the play selection. I would prefer to see him put someone else in charge of calling plays since the results have been so bad.

I think we're seeing a front office dictating the QB situation by force feeding Kizer and a head coach trying to keep his job. That's the only rationale for what's happening with the QB's....

There is not a single NFL caliber QB on the Browns roster. Not one. That's the only defense for Hue and the only reason he has a chance to get a 3rd year as HC.

Accumulating draft picks is fine. But the person at the top of the organization should never ever have been given Control of a 53. Keys since we are both in the sane field, here is my analogy. You don’t make a manager at Target a HS principal with no experience dealing with kids and expect good results.

So who is LeBron and when is he coming back?

We’re the hinkie era 76ers. Great at accumulating picks but terrible at using them.
