Hue Jackson and Todd Haley Fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Your consternation seems completely misplaced. There are 31 other teams trying to get a look at these players as well. If the practice is run horribly, how are those teams supposed to gauge the worth of a specific player(s)? Everyone knows in exhibitions like the Senior Bowl, practice tends to reveal more than the actual game. If the practice sucks, it's doing everyone a disservice.

Then it's simply not about parity, as they say it is. If the goal is to have the best practice, have Belichick do it annually and settle into a "controlled environment". I don't think my consternation is at all misplaced. I didn't write the guidelines for the coaching invites.

Strange that Houston gets a shot, with no 1st or 2nd round pick.

O'Brien and Dorsey have a friendly professional relationship.

We should honestly be thankful that Dorsey gets to have O'Brien produce evals instead of Hue.

O'Brien will have the south team, which should feature Rudolph, Mayfield.

Those reasons are trash. I don't care if you, Matt fucking Miller of scouting website "X", liked it. It's about the worst teams getting back to the middle of the pack to promote the parity the league puffs its chest about regularly. Thanks a ton, Phil Savage.

The NFL chooses which coaching staffs coach the senior bowl, not Phil Savage.

I actually think it’s a blessing that Hue won’t coach

I want him to have next to no input on this roster ESPECIALLY at the QB position

Point remains. Another passive-aggressive transgression.

IMO, for the NFL to go against what they usually do regarding the coaching staffs at the senior bowl, they had to have gotten remarkably negative reviews of the Browns coaching staff last season.

Matt Miller is hardly the only one who has complained about it.

Many of us (myself included) were skeptical to believe all the negative reports that came from it last season. It's clear they were true at this point, IMO.

This could all be true and I'll still have a problem with that. If there's a problem with how they ran the show, tell them. Unless the objective is to allow this terrible of an organization flounder indefinitely.

The Browns are trainwreck, but a confusing one.

I can point out to you when and why the Bengals are completely irrelevant at times. They don't invest in scouting (I believe they didn't have a formal gm for quite some time and relied on a pharmacist to do as such). They have the training facilities that would be outdated for an NAIA or DIII program, let alone a Pro Team (I wish I was kidding). They are...cheap.

Yet...I can't point to the same thing with the Browns. They HAVE SCOUTS. They have HAD General Managers. They HAVE A TRAINING FACILITY. They have every stupid generic thing that an NFL franchise could have.

And by the way? That Bengals team...in spite of everything I just typed? THEY HAVE HAD GOOD SEASONS. DIVISION TITLES. PLAYOFF APPEARANCES. All of that crap.

Welp...

Sometimes the Browns just make me want to make myself a nice cup of cyanide soup

The problem at last year's Senior Bowl practices wasn't Hue Jackson and his staff.

It was that all the players lacked talent.

I think it's a huge assumption that the Senior Bowl chose to skip over Hue. I believe the press reports that this was an internal decision by the Browns. One thing is clear: Dorsey and Highsmith plan on running this draft, and they didn't need Hue becoming attached to prospects and disrupting their flow.
