spurs and pacers want him.. there is not a better ringing endorsement then that.. if they're having reservations ? then they need to call those organizations and ask them why they're so high on him..

at this point it should be a no brainer..

The Spurs and Pacers both also want him to be a role player, a backup.

The Cavaliers are likely giving him a starting spot and at least 30 minutes a game in playing time.

I'm not at all saying they shouldn't sign him, because I think they should. But when your talking about bringing someone in AS A STARTER, you pretty much have to be completely convinced they are going to help you exactly how you want and need help at that position.

As far as I'm concerned Jasikevicius will sign with the Cavaliers..... when the Cavaliers decide to do it.

I think the Cavaliers are having some reservations about Sarunas's ability to defend at the NBA level, although I don't think they should.

I don't think we will see any more signings until the 23rd at the earliest. The Cavs have only a rough idea what the salary cap will actually be. Without the actual number they can't make an offer to a third player. They may have 6 million or they might only have 2 and that makes a huge difference when dealing with players who expect to get the around the MLE.

Now I have heard the trade winds are starting to stir up and that might be a possibility while the Cavs are waiting on the final cap number.

right.. but these are two of the elite organizations in the game right now.. which = their bench is a very important operation for their success..

and the main point i was stressing was, these two teams are very defensive oriented teams!! and if this guy is as bad of a defensive player as many have stated ? then i don't think these two teams would be interested, considering the status of thier organizations (championship caliber).. even if it was as a bench player..

Re: Saras is coming!...Anderson to start?

I don't think they are having any reservations. I think they are trying to add two more KEY free agents with the 7.5M they have left. So I think they are asking Saras to be patient until they figure out who the 4th target player is and more importantly how much is he going to cost. This accomplishes two things in my opinion. One, its makes Saras sweat and maybe he signs for a little less. Two, once they find the 4th FA they will know how much money they need to sign both players. Then they know if 7.5M is enough or do they need to make a trade to free up more cash.
I don't think the Cavs are concerned in the slightest about losing Saras to someone else without warning. He and Ferry have known each other for years thru Z. They are no doubt talking on a regular basis and DF knows what he needs to do to sign him.

Fitting two more solid players under the cap will make the whole FA period a successful one for Ferry......and more importantly for Cavs fans.

Cheers

Why mess with something that works? Varejao's value is that he lifts the tempo and plays in the oppostions face. Throw him in the starting lineup, and he has to restrain his ways to stay on the floor due to the probability of picking up cheap fouls. Basically Anderson will become next to useless. I understand trying to get a defensive influense in the frontcourt, but starting varejao will likely fail at this stage of his young career.

Varejao will end up being a starter in the NBA, especially if he bulks up. But right now, he can play too out of control, which leads to silly turnovers, silly fouls, those soughta things, so that is why he needs to be the 6th man.

But give it another year or two, and he'll be starting.

I would like to see how AV does the first couple months of the season. I think if he shows that hes actually worthy of a starting job and being more than an energy player off the bench after a few months, he should start. He would fit better in the starting lineup than Drew. I would give Drew around 27minutes per game off the bench and AV 21mins as a starter. But thats only if AV shows that hes ready. No need to just thrust him in there right off the bat.
