Has got to be the love fest between Wedge and Blake..Blake is horrible with RISP he could have tied the game twice tonight and flied out weakly on both of them.

He's a solid utility man but he ALWAYS gets out with the game hanging in the balance.

Wedge has been criticized before about giving Blake too much playing time and responded with "Casey is such a nice guy" it's disgusting...he was batting cleanup after Victor went down :thumbdown Horrible...

It's one thing for Mike Brown to play Wesley 20 games and fix it but we're going on Year 3 of the Casey Blake experiment...why not just keep Marte at 3rd Garko at 1st and Delluci over Blake. I absolutely can't stand that joke in the lineup...

Wedge has no business using Blake as a pinch-hitter, or in the #4 or #5 slot. It's killing the offense.

Wedge should be fired. He's a sub-.500 manager, he doesn't motivate, doesn't understand lineups, and doesn't know how to handle the bullpen.

He's OK as a minor-league manager, but the majors is over his head. Time to get a new guy in the manager seat.

We're missing Victor...I think the team will pickup...Barfield had good numbers in SD's pitchers park..we need Garko as the RBI machine...he had 4 hits tonight...dude needs playing time over Blake..Marte needs to pick it up at the plate.

My favorite was against the Angels down 4-2 with 2 on and 2 out...3 straight strikes right down broadway..they were smack in the middle of the plate and he didn't move the bat at all..no fouls no swings..stood there and watched 3 strikes..disgusting..

Ehlo2 we have a pretty good reason here. Plus, we have to be better than solid. We're a game down to 2 teams already, average won't cut it in this division.

I love Casey (great guy, team loves him, fans love him) but he just can't hit for clutch. I had no idea he was last though.

I think Wedge plays him because he's the mental glue to this team and he's been asked to play 3 positions and hasn't complained once. But now it's gotten to a point where he needs to earn every at-bat he gets.

It's not just blake. I loved the clutch hitting last night. Grounder to SS, grounder to SS, pop-up to C.

Who's complaining about the team.....I see complaints about a player (Casey Blake), and frankly, they are much warranted.

I agree that Blake should never be the cleanup hitter - he is a utility guy at best for his glove, not his bat.

But to be complaining that we are a .5 or a game out of first after 7 games is a tad ridiculous. We need to improve with RISP... but you know how hitting goes, especially in a cold early April. Have a little patience here, the bats are not what you need to worry about with this team. It all comes down to relief pitching, and so far that has been decent.

When Lee is back in the rotation and Victor is back in the lineup they will obviously be better. We will be 5-3 after today. I don't think the sky is falling.

You won't see me bitching about Grady beating the skin off the ball or Barfields defense at 2nd base...I'm saying we have a huge problem on this team which is getting runners in....and this guys the worst out of anyone..

It'd be like Ben Wallace being on the Cavs shooting free throws...could you imagine our 69-70% FT shooting and adding Ben Wallace? That's the same thing with Blake and RISP.

I'm not complaining about the team..just Blake.
