I think so too, but that hip injury can be a real problem. I have read some controversial and nasty stuff about the treatment of labrum tears and hip abnormalities in athletes, especially when you go with the conservative route (which from what I have read is the wrong decision for athletes of that magnitude).
According to Celtics fans and even from my own observation, he seems less explosive and he is slower turning corners. It's still so early though but it bums me that the Celtics fucked him up like that. He is still so so good on offence because of his all-around game, but he still doesn't blow by defenders just yet.
It's very hard to rehabilitate that hip area without reoccurrence of symptoms...and like IBWT said, he had pain after his first game.
I wonder if we plan to go with the surgery route in the off-season in case we re-sign IT.
I just love the little guy.
