I think so too, but that hip injury can be a real problem. I have read some controversial and nasty stuff about the treatment of labrum tears and hip abnormalities in athletes, especially when you go with the conservative route (which from what I have read is the wrong decision for athletes of that magnitude).

According to Celtics fans and even from my own observation, he seems less explosive and he is slower turning corners. It's still so early though but it bums me that the Celtics fucked him up like that. He is still so so good on offence because of his all-around game, but he still doesn't blow by defenders just yet.

It's very hard to rehabilitate that hip area without reoccurrence of symptoms...and like IBWT said, he had pain after his first game.

I wonder if we plan to go with the surgery route in the off-season in case we re-sign IT.

I just love the little guy.

Dom has been talking to Celtics fans...?..:banhim: :chuckle:

I'm not going to go by the word of a celtic fan. Nothing remotely close to scientific there. What we do know is that visibly he showed rust and is still putting up 42 + points per 100 possessions on .60 + ts in these last two outings.

No, not going to go by the word of a Celtic, but I don't like the outlook of this injury following a conservative treatment.

Luckily we are bringing him slowly, but it's interesting to know what the Cleveland Clinics doctors think about the decision to not operate on Boston's part and if they plan to operate him in case we do re-sign him.

IT is fine...its his 3rd game in 7 months...patience...the team on the other hand is toast...

I’m not even judging this off what I’ve seen so far this year but will you all please stop trying to talk yourselves into thinking that IT is better than Kyrie at anything. Kyrie is a top 10 player in this league.

I dont think I have seen anyone say he is better than Kyrie. So not sure where that came from. Personally, I would deal him in a heartbeat if anybody with decent significance became available. You just aren't going to win when it matters most with such a huge mismatch on your team. Good teams will exploit him to no return, similarly to how we did the past 3 years, full health or not.

There are quite a few things that IT is better than Kyrie at actually, including defensive effort, playing at a faster pace without turning the ball over, and getting to the free throw line. IT has better passing skills than Kyrie as well.

Trade him now ! He is a half of player. It simply won’t work with this midget pg that can’t defend vs my mother.

Getting MVP chants while his backups do all the heavy lifting.

every time I point out that IT is maybe not quite as good as Kyrie overall I get rained with disagrees and people helpfully explaining to me that IT averaged 28 PPG last season, so it's definitely out there.

we cannot trade him, we will never get equal value for a couple of months rental of IT. We have to deal with having made that trade. And yes, the defensive vulnerability he presents at the highest level is why Ainge was so eager to swap him for Kyrie. Hopefully we can figure out a way to address it.
