Should we trade Isaiah Thomas at the trade deadline?

No legs thing makes all the sense in the world. Every missed jumper was hitting directly on the front of the rim. Tell tale sign of not having your legs under you properly.

he has also not regained his full lateral quickness -- he is not yet shaking people on penetration as dramatically as he did last year, a reason why he has been getting blocked so much.

The difference between healed up and ready to play vs fully back in game shape is a big one for a short player who relies as much on quick changes of direction and jump shooting as IT does.

Who says he is even going to regain the same level?

Again, Labrum injuries just don't heal up on their own no matter how much physio you do.

Luckily, we are bringing him slowly and that's what we should do, but bringing him without going through practice is a risk in itself and detrimental to his progression all things considered.

I agree that the jury is still out on whether he will ever be the player he was. But it's also too early to conclude that he won't be. There is plenty of time before the playoffs and even if his hip was fine it wouldn't be reasonable to expect him in mid-season form right after returning.

But if he doesn't fully recover, and especially if we can't re-sign him for a reasonably sized contract given that, then the Kyrie trade will have been a true disaster

The Kyrie trade will always likely be a turd. I was shocked when it was made and knew it wasn't enough. The Cavs had to get one of the young rookies they coveted and got nothing. They had to get a healthy PG replacement and failed.

A panic move by Gilbert and Kyrie is laughing all the way to the finals and a Celtics dynasty with Tatum,Brown and whatever else they bring in.

Yeah, but the only way to make the Kyrie trade just a bad trade instead of a world-historically awful trade is if IT balls out.

If Kyrie wants to laugh his way to the finals in "dynasty" fashion he'd better hope LeBron leaves the East, Embiid's knees don't hold up, and Simmons never develops even a semblance of a jumpshot.

Glad we had time to film a new team intro.....................

You know, instead of team practices with little man.

I have faith in Isaiah Thomas and have nothing bad to say about him. The alley-oops to LeBron tonight have be an art. Just beautiful.

I'm sticking to my word, I hope IT gets paid and stays in Cleveland for many more years.

You guys quit hating on him because of his height, if he can ball, leave him be.

He can't ball.
He needs to go and D. Rose needs to come back.

Give him C-. Thought he pushed the ball well and got lebron some easy looks, but terrible defense, shooting and turnovers. We'll see.

Showed some flashes tonight. Still obviously trying to feel out the speed and rhythm of the league every game and still hit front rim a lot...tried to compensate for his lack of legs a couple times by over-launching which is no good either. But also showed good moments of burst and playmaking.

Anyone who knew a damn thing said when he came back it would be still be a slow grind and a process and it will be. But I have seen enough to at least legitimately believe in IT.

We actually may have had a chance to keep it close in the 4th if he could have stayed out there instead of Wade jacking up 18 footers with a hand in his face over and over.
