Jae Crowder, See Ya When We See Ya

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'll second all the posts about the irony of us ending up with Crowder without giving up Love, it's somehow further proof that the apocalypse must be near. I feel like we've entered bizarro world where JR and Crowder now must walk hand in hand.

From a pure basketball standpoint I don't hate it. But I will go all Michael Vick here and say to Crowder, cut those dreads. You look like the black Joe Dirt (end of movie version).

Sports are funny. 3 months ago, I wanted to pick a fight with this guy, now I'm excited as hell, he's here. He really is a huge pickup for the Cavs. Great, great 3 and D player.

Thing is.. he is exactly that guy you absolutely hate when he is on the opposing Team but absolutely love to have on your own Team. He makes people miserable.. plays hard all the time.. can get hot from three when you least expect it..

He could be our Battier.. only he is just 27... amazing

Maybe they settle it by giving Crowder one free shot at JR's grill....Then hug it out fellas...:chuckle:

Live look at Iman Shumpert when he found out Jae Crowder was added to our team.

I mean iys not like we can drop him any easier than we could the last 2 years weve shopped him.

Hes so bad hes stuck here.

If you have to squeeze Crowder in at shooting guard to make room you do it. The nba has trended to a position-less league for awhile now and i'm struggling to see how it's tough for him defensively when his job will be to guard the other teams best offensive wing. It's not like he's going to struggle on offense out there being a two guard. He will have multiple ball handlers on the floor with him at all times or just LeBron James and his job will be to catch and shoot. Something he's extremely good at.

That was my initial thought as well.

You can start him at SG if that's what gets the best players on the floor.

He's going to guard perimeter players, not sure it matters if he's a 2 or a 3 in a box score.

I'm all for positionless basketball. I am interested to see big lineups with Lebron playing point when Isaiah is too small. Fine, you want to trap our pg, we will play all bigs.

Yeah, but at least we don't *need* him anymore. If we can't find a trade where he's filler, then let his inconsistent ass ride the pine.

Do you guys think Crowder should start? The combination of him and LeBron at the three and four gives the Cavs one of the most defensively versatile forward combos in the league. I also think those two and Tristan creates the most switchable front court this side of the Warriors. Of course that does beg the question as to where Love plays, especially with a sieve like IT on the floor for heavy minutes. On the other hand, Love did an admirable job last year playing with Kyrie who played no defense either.

I would consider starting Love at the five and Crowder at the three like the Heat used to do with Bosh and Battier. Or alternatively, they can bring Crowder off the bench but against a team like Golden State, Crowder will probably be closing games. And I love the idea of certain lineups with Crowder, LeBron, and Tristan on the court together - Cavs could literally switch everything. Or the Cavs can even throw out a jumbo lineup with Lebron at the two along with Crowder, Love, and Tristan.

Not sure if he will start but it wouldn't shock me honestly. If he doesn't start he will certainly be playing starter's minutes.

I'm just glad I can come out of the shadows and root for the guy openly now. I've had to keep my love for his game a secret because of the whole JR / Playing for the rival Celtics thing. He's a great defender and a top tier spot up shooter so he fits perfectly as well

I never kept it a secret, i love his game, hate Isaiah's game and have no fucking clue on Zizic.

But i have always loved how Crowder played the game and always hated Boston. You can like a player and hate the team he plays for.

Depends if we want Crowder guarding PFs, because LeBron sure won't want to do it.

Battier guarded PFs in Miami and shot threes, Crowder could probably do the same.
