I thought this deserved its own thread, if not, mods can lock it.

Summary:

- doesn't think Gilbert will fire Grant or Mike Brown, says Gilbert doesn't like mid-season firings, not sure it would solve anything
- a rift between Kyrie and Dion
- thinks Cavs should explore trading Kyrie if he does not accept the max contract extension this summer
- thinks Waiters will be traded
- Deng the only player upset after last nights loss

Say what you want about Dion, at least he plays with heart. What have we done? Benched him and coddled our "superstar." This team is so messed up.

Edit: And I don't mean this as in he SHOULDN'T be traded ever but...yeah. We should at least fire Mike Brown before that....

LLoyd thinks dion will be traded?

All speculation on Lloyd's part.

Let me know when Windy says something.

Soooo, trading the major pieces of two of the last three drafts is the solution?

Ggggrreeeaaatttt.....

Lloyd is very knowledgeable. He's approaching the point of where Windy was when he was still writing in Akron. To immediately dismiss what he has to say is ignorant.

Does anyone actually think that trading major pieces of the last few drafts was ever NOT the plan?

This team has been in asset collection from day one. Problem is that those assets havent' been cashed in on yet.

Been reports for weeks, even before the Luol trade, and especially right after, that there are other big moves that have been being looked at. Nearly every GM wants to wait until the deadline to get them done. So where is the suprise coming from? We've known all along that this deadline had the potential to bring about huge change.

Lloyd is pretty on target now. Pretty sure he was the one who has reported the interest in Bynum and Gasol.

Hopefully we can turn this into a trade deadline thread.

Re: Jason Llyod: Major Roster Shakeup in Next 3 Weeks

I wish we'd trade Kyrie honestly and keep Dion. I've come to that point. I remember our stellar defensive effort against Indiana when Kyrie wasn't playing and we had no Deng, either. Yeah Kyrie looks like the best PG in the NBA at times but his baggage and inconsistency is not worth it. At least Dion has reasons to get mad and I tend to think that with Kyrie, Dion would be able to do more of his thing.

lol, I would love Dan's "letter" to the fans: "Rebuild 1 didn't work out and so we traded many key pieces, hopefully after 2 more seasons of tanking, we get it going again with new players. Thanks for your patience" Dan.................then 2 years later Dion is partying after winning his first title and Kyrie just got the max from the Lakers, improved defense a key reason.

Re: Jason Llyod: Major Roster Shakeup in Next 3 Weeks

It better not be Dion.

Time to stop dismissing Lloyd as some SBNation fanboy who isn't worth his salt and whose opinions are as batshit insane as Bruce fucking Drennen. Take his opinions seriously, as he's by far the best beat writer in this city.
