Jeff Green: Old

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Green's wingspan is longer than Lebron's yet his standing reach is 3 inches less? 8 ft 7 reach is Gordon Hayward level and Hayward's wingspan is 6ft7-8inches. Love's standing reach is also 8 ft 10 and change like Lebron's. Is it a wide chest or long neck that is causing Green's standing reach to be that low or is that 8 ft 7 inch measurement off?

Isnt standing reach measured at the combine at the same time as measuring their vertical? If a guy doesn't extend fully for standing reach their vertical ends up being a better number.

PJ was my add preference for the roster the past two years, but he just signed for 4 years and 32 million. You can't compare signing Jeff Green to a veteran's minimum deal to Tucker, who just commanded Korver money. If Korver was hitting his shots like we know he could in the finals, it isn't even a debate who is more valuable. I'd add that Tucker didn't end up doing much for Toronto in the playoffs. Still can't knock Tucker, but let's put his contract into perspective.

No, I wasn't so much being critical as wistful. Griffin did what he did, and what he did was defensible, especially since Korver, at age 36, was more re-signable. But the amount commanded in the first and second years by Tucker was just a million or so more than Korver (plus the corresponding tax). Not so much concerned about his salary in the 3rd and 4th years at this point (and the 4th year is only partially guaranteed anyway). Maybe Tucker wouldn't have re-signed here regardless, but I always take claims that a certain player wanted to go to a certain team with a grain of salt.

We can debate their relative merits, but I'd rather have Tucker on that contract than Korver on his, especially since the team also has JR Smith.

Watching those highlights of Green; he looks like a guy we can use. Nice height, good touch near the basket with both hands, seems to be engaged in the game, looks like an upgrade vs some dead weight we have.

That's possible, but Green's dunks seems explosive enough at age 29-30 that his 38 inch vert off a drop step measured a decade ago was likely legit.

Green's measurements were talked about here:

Kid looks like he can ball. Hopefully Lue learned his lesson and lets the bench play more this season.

@1:30 Korver still feeling that dunk.

I get it that these are highlights but that guy on our team with the talent and camaraderie it possesses...along with the chance to play in the finals excited me... Especially for the vet min...he can live off transition dunks and moving off the ball with LBJ...easily our 3rd best player at getting his own shot and finishing at the rim

yeah I agree, got a good feeling about this signing.

One suggestion for our fans.

Please wear a helmet while watching him play because he would have moves where you would be like "Damn, he can be an All-Star!" and then proceed with moves where you would want to tear your hair out wonder "How the fuck is he still in the league?".

So, just imagine the prospect of watching Shump and Jeff Green together. The potential to go bald is high!

Unless youre a big man there has to be some sort of rule saying you have to be able to shoot the 3 in order to join the kings team

But the Cavs are late to this once again

Quick let's get one of the worst 3 point shooters

Hell yeah

When people say he looks good/great based on highlights, I can't help but notice he looks just like a Derrick Williams kind of guy. The question is who has the better Bball IQ? Will he end up the same demise as him? Last question seems kind of futile. Just ignore if possible.

Lue and him have a relationship so Ty he probably actually give him minutes .

Plus he has had a little more success and experience than D-Will so I'm sure Lue will trust him more

The Derrick Williams comparisons are lazy. Green has been the better player his whole career and it's not even close.

His game has fallen off recently for whatever reason but if we can locate his offensive ability from just a mere few years ago, he instantly becomes our most versatile guy off the bench, even with Korver still in the fold.

Still need a tall wing who can actually play defense though.
