He was his rookie season. Took a 2-19 start and ended up 36-46 and then had a memorable playoff series with Boston. The talent gap was bigger than the Grand Canyon and somehow we won a game and kept the three losses to within one possession.

Ben Poquette would like a word....

Jordi was at the top of the list of potential candidates this year.. While I’m not surprised, as his pedigree is everything you want in a first time head coach, I am a bit disappointed..

However, if the Cavs are to return their core, or most of their core next year, it seems a guy like Bud or maybe even Kenny Atkinson is going to be the best route as a opposed to putting all the pressure on a first year coach to win right away…

Got damn Nets..

Running out of superlatives to describe our coach here…

Hands down one of the best coached playoff games in Cavaliers history…. From start to finish, what we just saw was coaching 101 at it’s finest…

Set the tone. Brought the thump!

Naughty Hombre….

The long troll is funny, but also actually accurate for once.

This may well have been JB’s best coached playoff game of his career.

Super happy with the win, however I think Magic played horribly, and it’s concerning that once again we wernt able to crack 100 points in a playoff game, this goes back to the Knicks series where we didn’t crack 100 points in 4/5 games.

If we played like this against almost any other eastern conference team we lose

The only team jb can probably out coach, but I still thought he did a good job. Would’ve liked more Sam minutes but that’s ok

I think in first halves were Merrill makes a few 3P, he’ll get the second half shift as well

In first halves where he doesn’t make any, he won’t get a second half shift.

Not saying I agree with it, but just a pattern I think will be adhered to

He out schemed the "happy to be there" magic in the first half, didn't he

Was it? Or were the Magic just the worst (specifically worst-coached) playoff opponent we've faced?

Our offense was sloppy and ineffective the entire night. How many times were multiple players standing on top of each other?

Nothing came easily outside of the Mobley pick-and-roll that pinned the Magic PG when they switched.

I wouldn't agree that the Magic are badly coached. Mosley doesn't have much to work with. The Magic are an extremely weak shooting team in a league where that's absolutely necessary; the fact that Mosley even got this squad to the playoffs, led by a second year player, is impressive to me, even in the lowly East. I didn't have them as a playoff team when the season started; I think most everyone would have ranked all or most of the play-in teams ahead of them in the standings.

That said, I do give JBB credit for coaching that first game well. He's gotten better about timeouts and challenges, and he even drew up a decent ATO yesterday. We'll see if this continues. I still have my doubts about his coaching , especially in the second round if the Cavs get there (which I think they will just on talent alone), but we'll see.

Speaking of Coaches what the hell was New Orleans coach doing that last 5 minutes or so in that game , I had no ideal what they were trying to accomplish
