Not to be a party pooper, but I remember the 92 playoffs against Jordan and the Bulls. We lost by 14 in Game 1 in Chicago, but came back and absolutely destroyed them by 26 in Game 2. Everyone was saying we'd finally figured out the code to beating them, and that we couldn't be stopped.

We lost in 6.

Point is that weird shit happens in basketball. As much as we might like to draw wider conclusions from the results of a single game, just as often it turns out to be an anomaly. It's what makes these series so hard to predict sometimes. We could beat these guys, or we could inexplicably revert to looking massively outclassed and poorly coached.

Won't know until we play the games.
Nobody including myself expects us to win this series, wouldn’t surprise me if Boston takes the next two handily, but including last night and up until game time tomorrow night, the media and JB haters can go pound sand for a few days……

I love how all the Media is making excuses for other team’s injuries, but no one is saying anything about ours, we have Thompson, Niang , Morris playing meaningful minutes are you kidding me, of course Boston should win this series in 5/6 games…..

What stinks about JBB, is he should either find a superstar offensive up and coming mind to help out...or relent to whoever he already has on staff that is that already. Then they need to sell it to the players. I feel like he constantly gets bailed out by talent. Certainly every team has great talent, but arguably Mitchell is top 3 scorer in the league, and Mobley and Allen are top 10 defensively, and Mobley might be top 2. And then sometimes things just go your way. But when we watch other teams, you see their offenses have so much more movement, it's pretty hard to watch the Cavs sometimes.

If I'm being pragmatic though, maybe that's the cost of playing hard Defense. I will say, it does annoy me sometimes when Mobley gets crap on the offensive side of the ball, when half the time he's guarding all 5 players on defensive side. There is a reason Bron, Leonard etc... slag on defense prior to playoffs, it's draining.

Anyways, just talking in circles now.

Ok, one last JB comment... his timeouts the last couple games have been way better timed. So many times it seems he would ride out waves of the other team scoring, but lately he seems to call a timeout as soon as they start getting hot. It's been nice.

Is your opinion rigid and final? Or does it change if we take Boston to Game 7? Or if we win this series? Advance to the Finals? Win it all? How about if Mitchell insists on JBB staying as a prerequisite to signing an extension?
We have the best player in the series so we’re always going to have a chance. But we won in spite of him not because of him. He constantly puts the team in bad positions

You didn't answer my questions. And I think most NBA fans would not rate Mitchell as a better player than Tatum.

Especially a healthy Tatum over a bang up Mitchell and probably over him healthy…..…not to mention most people would take Brown over Mobley and playoffs White over Garland.

Good morning, Cleveland !!

“Just pistol whipped the Celtics into an L, on their floor, — coming back home with home court advantage to casually knock these Boston clowns out of this tournament…..what did y’all do last night to help?….order DoorDash and BITCH about me?”

Most casual NBA fans don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. They’re on the same level as players but besides being shorter Mitchell has more of a complete offensive skill set on top of being able to run the point. What Tatum has over him is he’s the prototype of what you would want out of a wing in the modern day NBA(tall, can shoot 3s, decent defender). But he’s never. Even able to put that all together or the Celtics would have been won a ring with the talent Tatum has played with since he’s stepped foot on an NBA court. It’s pretty much a toss up imo but you can agree to disagree. As far as JBB , if we win a title (obviously that’s not going to happen )but for the sake of argument he could stay the coach on the team because it would mean somehow the team will have proven it could overcome his mediocrity and capture the ultimate prize. Anything else, nah. We’ve seen coaches fired the next season after making it to NBA finals, I’m not giving him credit for Mitchell being great

If Mitchell was as tall and long as Tatum he would be a better player but he's at least 6 inches shorter. As a casual fan I notice things like how tall people are, I realize it's not sophisticated.

P.S. Tatum's lifetime playoff record is 57-44 and Mitchell's is 23-30. Tatum is a year and a half younger than Mitchell.

Well, prepare to be "disappointed" if the Cavs get past the Celtics. Because if this happens there's no way in hell he will be let go. Nor should he be. I imagine you'd rather see the Cavs lose to Boston and JBB get fired than see the Cavs beat them and JBB keep his job?

A real Cavs fan knows we can upgrade at head coach and small forward.
Ty Lue & Le40 is not walking through that door, Johnny….Now lemme tell you the truth about Santa….
