JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Six weeks is the beginning of February. No way he comes back before the ASB (Feb. 17).

If he's back before the break, I'll donate $100 to RCF.

Luckily it's only JR. Dunleavy will get playing time and maybe finaly gain some confidence and the ability to knock down shots so that's going to be worth it if it happens.
Liggins will get more playing time and I hope it's going to be with the starters. I have full confidence in his ability to be a net positive and a defensive beast.

Hopefully he can get fully healed and stay injury free for the playoffs. I agree with most in starting Liggins and leaving Shumpert on the bench. I know Felder has struggled early, but maybe they can use this to try and get him and Dunleavy more confidence as well.

This fucking sucks. I love JR, he is a big part of what this team does but at the same time, this might benefit the guys in his place to step up. It's a month or a little more recovery time, he will be good and fresh after the break.

Right now I'm not too concerned about SG.
But it could be a issue..I'm a little concerned about the backup 5spot.
Liggins has shown he can play, he does need more time on the court.

If he doesn't come back until February I hope he can shake all the rust off before the playoffs...took Kyrie and Shumpert a while to do so last year (arguably Shumpert never got over his wrist surgery till this year).

Actually could've been a lot worse. This may actually be a blessing in disguise, though. It's no secret that JR hasn't really found consistent form as yet this season while Dunleavy has really struggled to step into that sharpshooter veteran role he was signed for. Liggins is continuing to thrive defensively while knocking down his 3-ball and McRae has seen reduced minutes.

This limited change in personnel could actually be beneficial for all parties: JR takes time to get his body back to its best, Liggins and McRae continue to grow and Dunleavy finds his three ball.

That's in an ideal world, of course. Will be a welcomed adjustment - we'll see what happens.

I think we need to use our extra roster spots. We're pretty thin for serviceable player depth on both ends. Unless Lou thinks McRae is ready for regular minutes. Otherwise our backups are Shump, RJ, Dunleavy, Frye and James Jones... And out of those, Dunleavy and JJ shouldn't be getting regular minutes while RJ can't be relied upon to be consistent for the next 6 weeks. We need to use both roster spots or our starters will be way too tired and risk injuries going into the playoffs. Get off your ass Griffin...

Why not bring Quinn Cook up from the Charge? Dude's tearing it up.

I agree - make LBJ the 1, Ky the 2, and RJ the 3.

Keep Shump at the back-up 2, make Liggins the back-up 3, and bring up Cook, to be the back-up 1.

And go sign a back-up 5.

Thou art welcome.
