JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is sad news but it allows someone like a Liggins to show his worth.

Also, we are surely getting a player soon. Be it a back-up Point Guard to have Shump play as a wing or a wing-player.

Anyway, get well soon, JR!

And so the awfulness that is JR's contract begins. By this time next year y'all will agree with me.

JR's money will be earned in the post-season.

He already earned most of it before he even signed the contract when he singlehandedly tied the game in the third quarter of game 7 .

With all the other heroics late in game 7, I think sometimes people forget how this team was teetering on the edge of getting blown out and he saved us coming out of the locker room. As important as any other moment leading up to the final 2 minutes of that game. He earned that contract.

How reasonable is it to expect a shooter to come back from a shooting hand injury in the post=season without a lot of regular season games and be what he was (and honestly he wasn't much offensively this year so far)?

I have no idea, but Shump had a wrist injury and never got back during the season. Heard JR might have torn ligament as well.

Smith will have probably around 2-.2.5 months and at least 20 possibly 30 games before the Finals. I don't think Toronto is any closer to havinga shot at beating is even if J.R. isn't himself.

I think he has plenty of time. And I also think it's different than Shumpert last year. JR is a natural shooter. Born with touch that can't be taught. Shumps shotmaking relies on consistent mechanics, decreased variability in terms of injuries, different types of shots, etc.

I think that since it is JR, and like I said, he's simply a natural shooter, that it will be easier for him to regain his touch. I think JRs legs are the main thing that drives his elite shotmaking. And as long as he doesn't completely fall off a cliff physically , he will have plenty of time to get his legs back. Couple weeks of regular season games, and then a playoff series or two should have JR back where he needs to be

I understand your point though. I Just think he has a lot of advantages over say, Shump like you said.

To the shooting technicians here, how much of a difference does it make returning to form for JR with a right thumb injury versus a left thumb injury?

If we continue to Kill it with Liggins, we might be able to use the injury to our advantage come play off time.

Its easier to keep a player on the bench working his way back from an injury as they understand that more.

Our big 3 is providing a ton offense on his own. Liggins is the best pg and wing defender we have. We need another 3-d guy for the bench,.

This will give us a 3rd bench wing guy to use (Shump and Jefferson being the others). Our biggest issue against GS is having no bench scoring without using Frye who is a horrible defensive liability.

While liggins gets only 20 mins as a starter, it puts him on Klay or Curry and that will completely throw off their game to start things off.

Just trying to think of a positive outcome from a negative.

If Liggins continues to shine with the starters, then JR as 6th man makes a lot of sense.

And...it gives us a TON of options for Shump trades at the deadline.

We're not trading Shumpert, shut up already.

The Warriors have the most robust analytics program in sports.

Players are monitored during practice and in games to determine if they are favoring any part of their bodies or if their explosiveness dips. Their workload is then adjusted accordingly.

They don't get hurt because the staff recognizes when a player may be susceptible to injury well ahead of time.

As much as I hate the personalities of their players, the Warriors are truly a first-class organization.

The Bay Area has quite the history in the manufacturing, trafficking, and use of PEDs...
