JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He was the only negative of our trade deadline, keeping him on our team.He should have been traded, unfortunately locker room problems still hindering us.

Good to see this team's lack of communication is also off the court.

"We didn't talk," JR Smith told ESPN of his benching. "(Tyronn Lue) sent me a text (Monday) and I told him, 'No problem.' I didn't know that it was a 'talk.' ... I'm not upset about it. I just wish there would have been more dialogue, I guess."

There isn't a whole lot of dialog about anything..which is wrong.
I'm the coach, I have a issue with you, I'm coming to you ..I don't need to text you, unless I'm afraid you might wet me up with a bowl of Campbells soup...

Kinda funny the coach that can "hold players accountable" doesn't even have the balls to tell the worst starting guard in the league hes being benched to his face like a man.

JR is such a moron though as everybody can tell by his response, bitch what dialog? you so bad you should be out the NBA, by far the worst guard that had a starting postion in the NBA and nobody else is even close to being as bad as him.

Better late than never though, I'v been advocating for Korver to start over JR monthes ago so I'm glad to finally see it happen, When Hood and Love come back we'll finally see what this team looks like at full strength.

I suspect the problem was that it isn't Lue who had the "issue" with J.R. - It was Koby. Maybe Lue was just being petty, and figured since it really wasn't his decision to pull J.R., it isn't his responsibility to tell him.

Still a total bitch move even if that's the case.

JR played well. I actually don't mind how Lue handled benching him. JR shouldn't have been a starter. Now he knows that he can be removed from the rotation entirely if he doesn't play well on both ends. Guys have gotten too comfortable.

Holland was +10 in 28 minutes. Played good D, and hit the boards. Didn't shoot well, but he is clearly our 2 guard of the future...

Not coincidentally, we need a dynamite scoring option at the 1 or 2 to truly fill this team out again. I reallllly like the idea of a McCollum or Beal because I wanna keep Hill. Upgrading the 2 to one of those guys would be better than upgrading Hill to a guy like Dame or Kemba(not using Nets pick on him..but Cavs might be able to get him in summer without it) but keeping JR. But I’ll take whatever I can get.
Eh not sure I agree with this. If we bring Hood back (which I assume is the plan), isn't he our starting 2 of the future? If he gets his head out of his ass he can be deadly here.

And Hill is a fine player but let's be honest, he isn't worth 20 million and he's going on 32. Getting a dynamic 1, either via draft or trade, to pair with Hood seems like the smart play here.

And how do you propose we get Kemba without the Nets pick?

I'd pump the brakes on the end of that.

Not shooting well against Phoenix is not a good sign. Defensively he played well, but again, we talking bout Phoenix.

The irony... Anyhow, it was a joke. Or was it?

I don't think it matters if the Cavs acquire a one or a two. But the Cavs absolutely need to acquire a dynamic guard at one of those positions. You can't win a championship with role players at both guard spots in today's NBA where are the rules are in favor of the guards.

Sometimes taking the high road is best. Not a fan of either guy but Lue was probably the most loyal dude in JR's corner and he comes out and shades him for texting him like its akin to a break-up lol. He's been given plenty of chances all season to not be the worst starting guard in the league on both ends by his coach to the teams detriment and he hasn't delivered.

I agree that we need a dynamic guard who can score alongside LeBron. I personally like George Hill and would like to find a 2 guard but if we trade for a star point guard then we have to hope Hood becomes a more consistent player moving forward.
