JR Smith

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
To be fair two things caused this:

(1) Lue mismanaged his timeouts which isn't new

(2) If Collison sinks that three, Indiana is fouling up three with no timeout. Therefore, they were planning the QB-WR play where Love throws it to LeBron and he quickly turns around before they inevitably foul (I'm making an assumption here but this has been the trend this season)

Problem here the above scenario didn't anticipate a miss (I know, pretty bad) which forces Indiana to play honest as we're in the bonus, so now a playoff game is being decided by JR which is lol worthy to begin with. At the moment I had a similar reaction because it seemed like Clarkson should've been open to receive a pass with 2.2 seconds on the clock (shave a second for the pass to get there and he would've had 1.2 seconds to launch a three for the win) but he's not the guy you want making decision and that shot is exactly what I expect from JR LMAO.
Simply put LeBron should have been there for the rebound. If they make the free throw just have him run down the court and get to a spot so Love can pass it. However, they should have been prepared for a miss.

I agree because they had that play snuffed out with two guys defending LeBron, I didn't understand committing to it but oh well. Either way even if they foul, you still have a chance for an intentional miss. Pretty bad all around my point was that JR didn't exactly plan ending the game that way.

JR has declined a lot as a player...But gotta tip my hat to him...he may make mistakes but he’s only guy besides Lebron (and Korver) that shows heart on this team.

He plays like he wants it and isn’t afraid of the moment...also mentioned before that he was the only player besides Bron and Ky that showed up in the finals last year.

We may go down...but at least JR will go down swinging

I've knocked JR all season, and he's deserved pretty much every bit of it.. but I'll also join in and say - he's played his ass off in the playoffs thus far. I really like what he's doing on Oladipo, he's taking that matchup personally. He's knocking down shots and competing hard for us.

Yes, he still does some stupid ass things -- but that's JR. You take the good with the bad. And right now, there is more good than bad.

JR has been our 2nd best player this series.

He has defended Oladipo extremely well and came up with some huge clutch buckets as well.

However, I still want him to just shoot more. He has been dribbling and looking to create for others, which tbh he has done decently. His passing has been crisp on occasions but we need JR to go back to the "No fucks given JR" who shot the ball unconsciously, because pretty much everyone else in this team besides LeBron, Clarkson and Korver is afraid to shoot.
