There's a chance of injury risk with anyone.

I'd say it depends on the offers you get right now. Even if LBJ leaves, I think there is a value for the younger players having some vets from whom to learn and to help it not be a complete shitshow. So if the offers are underwhelming, you keep him and see if his value goes up when he is the No. 1 option. If it doesn't...well, the offers were underwhelming anyway, so you haven't lost as much.

If Lebron leaves there will be big demand for Love, Hill, Korver at the deadline. We could load of on younger players or picks.
Plus we get rid of those players then we are pretty sure to make the lottery and keep the pick we traded to Atlanta

Not so sure about that, especially given how short their remaining contracts will be. But, we'd certainly get more for Love at the deadline than if we waited until the end of the season....

Love was good when he was really fat. Now that he's on his banana republic shit he's not nearly as effective. He can't bully anyone in the post. Slap an athletic 6'6 guy on him and he's screwed.

I think the shortness of the contracts is the one thing that is attractive.
No doubt Hill and Korver could help a contender.
Certainly Love could
Plus we get the contracts off our books
Cavs can be set by 2020 to have a lot of $ to spend and by then hopefully sexton, cedi, zizic, nance will be doing well

They’ll have all this money to spend and no FA are going to come unless they drastically overspend if LBJ isn’t here.

The reality is if LBJ leaves, it will be a LONG rebuild. They will have to refit the team through the draft. Although Koby hasn’t been at the helm but for a year, this teams drafting record is far from stellar.

Well, wait a minute.

Exactly who is going to be trading for Love? Presumably, it would be teams who want his skills, which means competitive teams. That most likely means teams that are capped out, and would have to send us back contracts in return if they traded for Love. So that's not going to help our contract situation. If we wanted to maximize our cap space as soon as possible, we should pretty much just keep those dudes and let their deal expire.

I’m sure Phoenix would be interested in Love. They were before. Maybe ask for Chriss and Jackson? Doesn’t excite me much but if LeBron leaves I would think Love’s trade value would go down.

Hard to gauge. He's less valuable to most teams post-Warriors reality. Rest of the NBA is looking for a 4 who can shoot, but can also switch. Probably need a pretty disciplined team to take advantage of Love's abilities while covering his flaws and still getting W's (sans Lebron, obviously a Lebron or Durant can help erase those issues).

Or you need an "old school" GM who still lives on the inside out post game in his head.

You’re not getting Jackson. They tried all last offseason.

Love is just personnel fit more than anything IMO. He needs an elite defensive 5 to play with and a good defensive wing....both of which can carry a bit of Kevin's water on D.

He still has good value IMO, it's just a specific set of teams (Houston, Utah, New Orleans, etc). He's proven he can play against GSW....with no rim protection at all, he was still a plus player against GSW this past finals.

I'm ok with taking back a bad contract to make the salaries match but I want picks to roll the dice with. Mo Williams for the Baron Davis contract and a first round pick is the kind of deal I can only dream of. That by the way is how we got Kyrie.

I have to say I like Zizic and Sexton will be a litmus test for him. I preferred Cedi over Crawford until the playoffs when neither was playing for us.

Too early to tell, but I think Koby at least won't overthink it.

I wonder if the fo is considering somehow trading love to spurs for kawhi before lebron even publicly announces where he is going, to really give him somthing to think about

There’s nothing we have that the spurs would take for him.

I like that suns deal of Love for Chandler, Dudley (two expiring) and multiple firsts.

Gives us cap flexibility and assists to rebuild.
