Kevin Love Trade Ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
People suggest Boogie and I just wonder if they remember LeBron is on the team. He doesn't mesh with giant, back to the basket players. A boogie, Thompson front court is basically the opposite of every team that has been built around James since he went to Miami and started winning titles.

Call up the Bulls and offer them love, osman, and Shumpert in exchange for Butler and one of their bad contracts. If they say no, oh well, you tried.

The bulls are ultimately gonna settle moving him to minnesota, I feel.
Can Minnesota put together a package better than what you proposed the Cavs offer without including KAT (which they obviously would never do)?

You have to admit it'd be hilarious if Love ended up a Bostonian after all. Him and Horford would be like the Milli Vanilli of front courts.

How doesn't he mesh with boggie? Lebrons never played with a bruising center. Z was the closest thing to a traditional center hes ever had and he wasn't half the player boggie is. And it's not like boogie just stays in the paint. He can shoot. And TT wouldn't start with boogie. He'd come off the bench like he did when we had moz.

Just because lebron hasn't played with someone like boogie doesn't mean he can't.

I really think the best for the Cavs is to trade him when he has the highest value. His back issues are no joke and I don't wanna see the Cavs end their title window because of this.

Its by design he doesn't play with paint cloggers. Cousins also said he was staying, so what a waste of time this is.

Jimmy Butler is one on a very short list i'd trade Love for. It would take some serious getting use to however. Butler isn't a wall flower and wouldn't succeed by just standing in the corner. He is very involved in the offense as a ball handler.

It would be great in that we could finally not worry about team production when LeBron sits. Together though there would be some growing pains as we would have three guys that do their best work with the ball in their hands.

Butler would be so nice on defense where he could switch from 1-4 much like LeBron. Korver could be hidden pretty well in a lineup like : Shumpert (assuming he doesn't get dealt here), Korver, Butler, LeBron, Frye/Tristan.

Yea they've got all of their own picks, including this years. Also not sure Levine isn't more valuable, considering his contract, straight up.

Butler could also act as a secondary ball on the second unit. He solves a lot of problems but he isn't much of an off ball player but still passable.

As you've noted elsewhere though, they are pushing for a playoff spot. And if they got Butler they would certainly soar up the standings. So that pick, while valuable, would fall outside the lottery.

Do you really think they'd trade LaVine? He's been great this year.

If Minnesota went after Butler I'd guess there offer would be Wiggins/Rubio/pick. Wiggins and Butler on the same team would not work very well. LaVine and Butler is a much better fit.

Unfortunately Chicago would still probably take that over Love.

Another guy worth kicking the tires on is the slightly disappointing Paul George. I think he would be a great fit here and one would hope with a lesser burden to carry on offense he could shine. I wouldn't give us as much to obtain George as I would Butler because Butler is quite clearly the superior player.

I honestly would take George over Butler on this team. He shoots the three at a much better rate on a much higher number of attempts. I don't feel like he needs the ball in his hands to be effective, Butler I feel does need the ball to be effective.

George would be like having Love minus the post game and obviously not the rebounding but with far superior defense. Butler would be more like Wade was in Miami, someone who does a lot of the same things LeBron does, but not as well. He's also taller than Butler so he's probably able to defend the post a bit better.

If you are starting a team from scratch, most people probably take Butler, but I don't think he fits that well here with Kyrie and LeBron.

Yeah, that's a reasonable thought. I agree with everything but the defense. George is capable of playing high end defense, but he hasn't been showing it in the regular season.

I don't know what they would trade. I don't know what any of these teams would trade. We're all making guesses.

As far as we know, the Cavs have shown no desire to trade Kevin Love, either, right?

So when we say things like, "X team wouldn't trade this player or this pick," who says the Cavs would trade Love?

As for the other part, they're 10 games under .500. They'd currently be 8th in the lottery with less than half the season to go. They may or may not make the playoffs. Certainly that pick has some real value.

I think we'd stand a better chance of getting George than Butler. Won't happen now, but come next year if Indy is still struggling....

I say it's a good thing we are bringing over Osman next year. If it looks like he can play, that would increase any deal involving both him and Love, for a better player.

As of now, I don't think Kevin Love alone would attract either player. I doubt Shump is very tempting either. Not for these type of players.
