Kevin Love Trade Ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why would Sacramento do this trade? Doesn't make any sense. Love isn't nearly the best possible package out there.
"I don't think it's realistic so it won't happen".

They wouldn't. I was just giving my take on Boogie.

If you're trading Kevin Love then you need two pieces in return that can (1) score and (2) rebound. Like a DeMarcus Cousins.

Which i'm curious to hear thoughts about... what's the board's general opinion on Cousins in Cleveland's current circumstances?

@gourimoko ? Do you believe if Cousins could be acquired in a multi-team trade involving Cavs/Clippers/Knicks/Kings for Kevin Love does it help us vs. Golden State?

@D-Wreck , I know you're a big Kevin Love supporter too. Do you think -Love +Cousins makes the team better?

I think Cousins helps us, but I don't think Cousins gets traded any longer.

Had the new CBA not been so constructed as to allow franchises to offer much better contracts to their stars; then it would've been possible.

But Cousins isn't leaving the Kings any longer. There's already talk of an extension this year.

I don't think it's realistic so it wont happen, and maybe I'm crazy....

But I'd trade Love for Cousins in a heartbeat. Cousins is a one-man wrecking crew and he's physically dominant and has the tools to become a defensive anchor as well. I'd pt my faith in LBJ to reign him in. (Cousins can even shoot the 3!!) I think that' extends our window and makes us better when LBJ starts to decline...because Kyrie and Love at least as it stands now, without a huge leap from Kyrie, is not an elite 1-2 punch...KYrie and Cousins though...wow.

GS would piss themselves if we ran out cousins at the 5 AND Bron at the 4. Green can handle Love or TT there...but Cousins? It's over with.

I'm a huge Demarcus guy though. And I believe in Lebron's leadership.
I get LeBron reeled in JR but I think JR is genuinely a good person who built up bad habits from never playing with a a leader

I think boogie is a shit tier person

Guys a head case and a half

And I refuse to believe he would defer to anyone no matter who they are

He's a petulant child. I think this goes far beyond saving

I had in mind something like Kevin going to New York, Carmelo to LA, Cousins to Cleveland and Sacramento getting a combination of picks and young players from all teams involved. But I was more interested in general opinions on Cousins' fit here.

IND gets:
2018 Nets first rounder
2017 Celtics first rounder
2018 Celtics first rounder
2021 Cavs first rounder

BOS gets:
Kevin Love

CLE gets:
Paul George

Why Indy does it: It essentially takes admitting that they have no shot at taking down the Cavs in the East for the next 3-4 years and are just punting towards the future. It has more to do with the NBA having next to no parity than anything. Let's say LBJ goes down and you do get past the Cavs within the next few years.

1. Indiana isn't ahead of anyone else in the East pack so even assuming they win 2 more series in the East is kind of dicey

2. Good luck with the Warriors

I still don't think they'd be likely to do it because of fan relations and it's literally just waiving the white flag, but I mean does anyone see Indiana in the finals in the next 3 years (the length of PG-13's contract)? Short of an absolute gem in the draft (we're talking Greek Freak, Kawhi level) it's so unlikely

Why Boston does it: They have so many picks that they've basically just been wasting their own picks on Euro stashes. Might as well empty the cupboard a bit for a true star. They keep the pick this year that will likely be the best odds for the first pick in the lottery and will have a core of IT/Love/Horford to go with their pick this year and a ton of good role players.

Why Cavs do it: George can guard every Warrior. Good shooter. Would be the best #3 option in the league in a landslide

Edit: Still can't see Indy doing this while in the 6 seed. Just ignore this.

I know you said ignore this, but a deal like this is gonna be hard, because of how much Boston would have to give up. They can't absorb salary. They are at the cap. So you've gotta add a bunch of Boston along with those picks.

Also, in my own travels around the Boston parts of the interner, they'd just rather have Paul George.

Didn't even realize they were at the cap. Ooof.

This would all be so much easier if George wasn't on that good pre-cap spike contract for 2 more years. The 2 main targets IMO (Butler and George) would be the best player in any 3 way trade on great contracts which doesn't bode well for us because, as you said, the 3rd team would likely just prefer that player.

When Kevin Love is 45, and retired, they'll still be trade rumors involving him.
