We all know all these “special people” like players, coaches, managers, rich owners cant get away with almost nothing in situation like this, while “mortals” like us would get all sort of charges, records for doing even lesser sins.Only in sports you can carry, display, threaten with guns, beat up your wives, drive under drug or alcohol influence and still keep your position in a club in most of the cases.Power of money and fame.

Capitalism.

But people don't want to hear that.

The more responsibility you have in your job, the harsher the penalty should be for something like this.

I don't think he should be fired but his suspension should be lengthy and it should include the phrase "without pay".

He should also be required to go talk at some sort of non profit like MADD or TADD and donate his time.

I'm personally in the camp that it is only a "lesser" offense because he managed to get off on a technicality.

He's one of the faces of the organization and can be held to a higher standard.

For me, if it is really the first time something of this nature happened to him, I will be more forgiving....

The thing that I did not really like though is him trying to use his influence with the I am the President of the Cavs.... not a good look... salute to the cop for not giving in

Not the best look but not surprising given the situation. Probably seeing his career flash before his eyes. I'd honestly be more grossed out if he used that for trivial things.

I know this is going to sound overtly harsh and is very much 'moral high ground' territory, but integrity is about who/what you are no matter who is watching.

If Koby had participated fully, not attempted to name drop, not done the whole "you're messing me up!" during the sobriety test, etc. then I would view this differently.

I don't have a problem with him refusing a breathalyzer because he knew he would fail and the law is written in a way where failing is worse than refusing in Ohio, at least on the first time. I'd expect any intelligent person to do the same thing in that situation.

The social interactions left a lot to be desired from a key leader of a major organization.

He demonstrated poor judgment and a low level of self awareness. So how is he going to deal with it the next time a Cavs player gets in trouble for doing exactly what he did?

Leading by example is pretty high on the list of responsibilities or at least it should be.

This coming from me is pretty bad, I'm usually extremely tolerant of human error, etc. But Altman is supposed to be highly intelligent, he didn't look so in that video in any way, shape or form. He put himself in that situation when he is supposed to be a leader, simply a very bad look.

He ain't lying'.

Wonder how Altman will address the DUI in the room today

With news of the latest injury to JA, perhaps the most disturbing aspect is that his replacements are Damian Jones and Tristan Thompson. The lack of adding a solid NBA level backup at center this off-season is a fireable offense.

Examining Damian Jones’ journey through the NBA since 2016 consists of two pectoral muscle surgeries (one on each side), multiple G League assignments, multiple 10-day contracts from several clubs and having navigated himself to 8 different teams. Koby really had to struggle to come up with a replacement for Robin Lopez to whom he pales in comparison …..SMH

Honestly think we will just see Ev play some center to start out.
