Koby Altman

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Mark Jackson and his successor both played in the NBA at the exact same time, so you kind of torpedoed your argument by bringing up the Warriors.
It's not mutually exclusive to all players of any era. It's simply a concern I have. I think Jackson's inability to adapt to his roster held them back. Kerr took his lumps as Suns GM, forcing a 90's basketball formula against a 2000's wall (the start of the memorial Shaq farewell tour that ended with Boston and had a stop in Cle). I'm sure GS is glad he learned on someone else's team.

Just checking in to see if we have a new GM yet ?

No ? Awesome!
No worries we have very limited resources so it does not matter. How dare you complain about no front office a week before free agency. Be greatful for the finals appearance.

Thats the frustrating part. If you didn't want to extend Griff's contract, fair enough. But you should have had his replacement sorted already. This is just poor management really. Sigh!

I think we should hire whomever the coach is at Lakeland Community College to be our GM. I mean, Cavs fired 3 coaches and 2 GM's in a 3 year period. Not quite Stepien-esque but if our owner is as meddling as the reports say, getting close.

I imagine something's gotta give soon with Chauncey slated to participate in the Big 3 tournament tomorrow.

Not sure if this has been talked about on here or not, but more than likely the real reason Chauncy Billups has not signed the contract to be a Cavs employee yet is.......wait for it......

He can "legally" tamper with other teams players right now.....he is not an employee of an NBA team so he can "legally" place calls and talk to who ever he wants...

I'd be willing to bet right now he's making a variety of different arrangements, more than likely in coordination with "Lebron's camp"....

Talking to Melo?
Talking to Wade?
Telling George to sit tight for a few days until a few things fall into place?

Who knows what is happening, but you can bet there is a "method to the madness"....

They are trying to improve the roster of a child's game and this isn't rocket science.....these aren't fools.

I think you're way over thinking it.

LOL...NBA doesn't give 2 Amicos about tampering.

Thats the frustrating part. If you didn't want to extend Griff's contract, fair enough. But you should have had his replacement sorted already. This is just poor management really. Sigh!

If a perfectly oiled machine yes - And this is what led me to believe that maybe the departure of Griffin was not a pre-planned one. There might have been a nasty fight and words might have been exchanged and Grif decided to say, Screw it I quit and now Dan might be trying to make the best decision.

Tomorrow is the first game of the Big 3 season. It will be interesting if Chauncey is or isn't playing!

Hopefully whatever new front office personnel that comes in will be able to have a better common vision with Lue. If we want Felder or Cedi to contribute or have trade value they have to show they are they are NBA talent. Lue will have to push the issue and give them solid minutes until at least the trade deadline.

Hopefully we have someone in place for free agency. We need to acquire talent to possibly take over for back end of the rotation. The value of Shump and Frye might be the highest after free agency. Wings and stretch 4s are a huge need on most NBA rosters, if a team reshapes or strikes out in free agency, Frye and shump's contracts are good value for what they provide. They might not be first choice for teams but are good back up solutions.

I was hoping they'd go the route of firing Lue but as always that seems like too much to ask.

I agree with this sentiment to a degree. While I think Griffin is a top-shelf basketball executive, the Cavs need a culture change in the worst way and I don't see how that happens if things stayed status quo.

The team as constructed doesn't jive with the style of play Lue claims, at least publicly, to want which is pushing the pace. In addition to a two-way wing, the Cavs' offseason priority should be a point guard that can push the pace, defend and both spell/play next to Kyrie.

I keep seeing George David as a possible assistant GM to Chauncey. Any thoughts on him? He's a former pistions assistant GM.
