Keys to the Game

-This game we have to ulitilize Ilgauskas,no way in h#ll Zaza Pachulia can guard him

-Transition Defense, this a young team that will look to push it on us as much as possible,we cant let them get momentum by a huge slam by Josh Smith

-Ok our D hasnt been great but GUARD THE PERIMETER PLEASEEEE,joe johnson, salim stoudamire can light us up all night out there

-Lebron is coming off a 52 point night and we loss,i wanna see ball movement and no settling for perimeter shots

-CONTAIN AL HARRINGTON,this guy has just lit people up of late,im worried about him more than anybody else

Overview : The Cavs are coming off 2 losses they could have easilly won.Its time for Lebron to look to distribute and Hughes to have a big night.I wont mind at all to see Wilks play again if Damon Jones gets beat on every play and every type of move you can think of.But the energy will be there and Cavs will take this one in double digits.

Cavs Win 107-96

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

hawks just had a 10 point victory over the spurs, nice games all around for the atlanta guys

this is about as must-win as it gets for the cavs for this early in this season, a loss at home vs one of the 5 worst teams in the league would not only be demoralizing, but put us at 5 losses out of our last 6 games, and an overall record of 11-9 after starting the season 9-2... and we have a tough stretch of games coming up

should we win? yes but that was also true against the bucks and nets. And if we continue to play like we have been, we may drop this one as well. There isn't very much about the team right now that is working correctly

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

The Hawks are playing better then their record suggests, and we are playing below our 11-8 standing. Thats spells concern. The Cavalier's need to find their confidense, and that should start with hustle. It should start by winning the little things like loose balls. Get back to dominating the boards, and pushing the ball from that. To get the boards you have to make stops, which means staying infront of your man and getting a hand up. That'll do me for now........

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

We will probably win this game by 20

Then of course, we are back to being contenders again... I'm sure Reghi and the boys will pump the victory up as being "Oh so important" and that the Cavs are back on track.

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

why didn't the Hawks draft Paul? That lineup would look a lot better in a few years with Paul at the point.

and ZaZa is not a bad young player

They were stupid. Paul, JJ, and Zaza are very very nice core to build around.

Well this should be a win but who knows what Cavs team will show up. Even quarter to quarter they look different: world beaters one minute and lottery team the next.

I would for once just like to see Hughes moved to PG and then have Luke and Lebron at the 2 and 3. When Newble comes back I would like to seem him on the court at the same time at Laryy and Lebron. the Jones and Snow tandem on the court at the same team just seems awful to me

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Z injured knee today at practice.....going to get it checked out this afternoon. Should play tomorrow.

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

great...now he will be even slower. :chuckles:

Is that the same knee he had problems with at the start of the season?

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

YEP! It was first injured in the SA game...and several times since then. Eric Snow fell backwards and took him out at the knees in practice.

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

We better just lose this game. If we want to miss the playoffs, this is the game to lose, let me tell ya.

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

I just don't see Drew Gooden or "Z" stopping ZaZa and Harrington...

We all know Damon is not going to be able to stop Lue...

They're deeper too.. :(

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Gooden will have his hands full sticking with Marvin Williams and Al Harrington. Z also will be challenged by Zaza who can step out and hit open J's. LeBron is taking Smith which means finally he isn't tagging a 3 point danger. Hughes will have a challenge with Johnson, so we hope he can refind some of that defensive vigour.

We must attack inside. They have offensively talented players in the front court but extremely weak defensive ones. James should have a field day, but he must get others involved.

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Z is questionable now for tonight....they want to rest the knee and feel tonight may the night to do it.
Hey maybe Marty could see some action? :chuckles:

Re: Atlanta Hawks @ Cleveland Cavaliers

With Z hurting, we really need Hughes to step up his game. Weve seen what happens when LBJ tries to do it by himself. I say Hughes breaks out of his slump, LBJ plays great getting everyone involved, triple-doubles. Cavs win by 15.
