Game Notes

-Cavaliers Begin a Three game West road trip.

-Cavaliers won last contest at home. (Sonics 85 Cavaliers 112)

-Rashard Lewis injured himself within the first few minutes in that game running into a teammate.

-Drew Gooden was on the bench for most of the second half against the Clippers. He had an ice pack on his ankle.
Keys To The Game

-Larry Hughes has to take advantage of Ray Allens bad defense. And Larry has to take it to him the other way around too. Ray allen can get started hitting those threes at any moment. Larry will need to contain him.

-Attack inside. It worked at the beginning of the Clippers game. Lets go to Z early and get him started.

Prediction:

I don't like predictions, but i think we know who im rooting for.

Z vs Collison, I like that matchup. My guess is we try to get Z going early. Seattle will probably double and Z has to get the pass out to the open man in this case. When Z is doubled by quick guards, he tends to lose the ball.

Keeping Seattle off the 3 point line is going to be hard, they got both Allen and Rashard that can hurt from long range. I'd actually rather see these guys taking 15 footers than 3 pointers.

Rotations on defense will have to hold up for the entire shot clock. Cavs D has been solid for the first 18 seconds or so of the clock, but if the opposing team is moving the ball around, the rotations tend to break down. Also, our guards need to hit the boards too to grab those long rebounds and prevent 2nd chance opportunities off missed 3's.

Offensively, we need to take it inside, I don't think they'll have an answer to a Z or Lebron post up.

Re: Cleveland Cavaliers (10-4) @ Seattle Supersonics (6-8)

Ilgauskas has a huge advantage over the undersized Collison. If Z can fight for deep position in the post like last night, he can have another field day. If Seattle overcompensate, Drew Gooden could find some openings. Keeping Rashard Lewis is check will be tough for LeBron. We know Allen will get his, but Hughes will make him work. The same cant be said for Lewis who'll likely get what he wants on James. Snow did a good job on Ridnour lkast time round, so a matched performance will be required.

If the Cavaliers can hustle on the boards like in the first meeting we can take this. Reducing turnovers and 2nd chance points is my key for the game. To me we have the firepower but not neccessarily the mental strength on the road. I am sitting on the fence here. This is our most winnable game on this trip but no given by any means.

Re: Cleveland Cavaliers (10-4) @ Seattle Supersonics (6-8)

im kind of glad we are on the road. not that i dont like playing at home, but winning at home shows that you are a good team. winning on the road shows that your a great team. we are a average team on the road. this is a very winnable game, and one we should win if we want to be considered more than a good team.

all we have to do is get to the foul line and we should walk out of seattle with a victory. we are currently the best free-throw shooting team in the nba, and with the undersize front line of the sonics getting them into foul trouble should not be difficult.

although they have great scorers they have bad defenders. lebron and hughes can take their opposition to the hoop with regularity.

i see Z getting around 27 points and 15 boards, around 10 of those points coming off of his tip-ins-after-i-miss-a-tip-in. :chuckles:

Re: Cleveland Cavaliers (10-4) @ Seattle Supersonics (6-8)

I don't know about this one fellas. We are the worst perimeter defending team in the league. Ray, Rashard and Luke are going to be a killer. If there is a way to shut down Ray Allen, then we may have a chance. The Sonics are a pretty good shooting team, and they are playing at home. I am thinking we will all be pissed off by the end of the night.

I hope we can pull this one off, but I don't think it's going to happen.

Home team wins by a good margin.

Re: Cleveland Cavaliers (10-4) @ Seattle Supersonics (6-8)

We blew the Sonics out last time because there was no Rashard Lewis.

If LeBron can stick to Lewis, we should pull this one out. Ray Allen is going to get his, no question about that.

We also have to prevent the other guys from having good nights: namely Nick Collison, Vlad Rad, Ronald Murray, and Luke Ridnour. Those are the threats outside of the big 2.

This is going to be a tough away game. At least we had a good, tough home game before this. Now we can go in with our heads on straight and bout til the end.

Anyone else hate the late starting time? Most of you gotta wait until 10:30 - I have to wait 'till 9:30 - I have no idea what time it starts for you Karma....Saturday morning?

On paper, we should win this game. It is important to start this swing with a win - there a two tougher opponents next, with the Clippers the next night. Winning the first of this back-to-back is key. Then a few days off in sunny California before battling Sactown. Then a couple days more days off before NJ at home. Kind of an easy road trip if you ask me...we will have had 5 days off in 8 days.

The Cavs better come with it tonite. They have yet to impress me on the road. I wonder if coach is gonna let the guys hang out at the beach and enjoy the weather. Theyll be in the area for a few days.

I think Karma is about 16 hours ahead of us, so the game would be on about 3pm Saturday down under time.

Re: Cleveland Cavaliers (10-4) @ Seattle Supersonics (6-8)

Yeah gonna miss the Saturday 2.30pm tipoff for me. Big Aussie musical festival in Sydney that I will be rocking out to.

Hope somebody is here for some play by plays as they are fun way to recap a game you've missed.

Keeping them off the offensive boards, LeBron actually playing some defense, and Jones not allowing Ronald Murray to look like Iverson will get us in the game down the stretch.

Re: Cleveland Cavaliers (10-4) @ Seattle Supersonics (6-8)

its starts at 730 for me peoples. :chuckles:

Re: Cleveland Cavaliers (10-4) @ Seattle Supersonics (6-8)

That dunk by LeBron was monsterous. LeBron with 16 points in the 1st quarter so far.

Re: Cleveland Cavaliers (10-4) @ Seattle Supersonics (6-8)

14 actually and the Cavaliers should never shoot another 3 jesus. Donyell bricked 2 Damon bricked 2 Jackson bricked 1 James bricked 1 Hughes bricked one...Jones raised up with 23 on the shot clock from 3 feet behind the line...

I call dibs on that lebron dunking avatar since I never get one that actually works :/

Re: Cleveland Cavaliers (10-4) @ Seattle Supersonics (6-8)

Awesome Jones is the biggest shot chucker ever like yeah, He passes up wide open treys to shoot fadeaways with 15+ on the clock and 3 feet behind the line. Get him out of here. Z got T'd up as they went to commercial.
