LA Clippers @ Cavaliers

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Our offensive flow has faded, but our defense has really lifted limiting any chance of a run by the Clips.

Anderson really needs a bit more bulk. He has been manhandled tonight.

Sasha and Varejao making things happen.

Pro performance.

We actually set the tone for this game. Been awhile since we've seen that.

Ilgauskas and Varejao dominating the paint. Clips forced into shooting jumpers, and they've gone cold.

OK clear the benches.

Clips came to play, but we kept our game at a high level and sucked the life out of them.

We turn to Miami, and some revenge after our meltdown.

Why are the starters out there in the last minutes?

Shannon Brown sighting!

There it is.

94-77.

Best defensive effort since December.

We wanted uptempo offense, we got it, with the added bonus of tight D.

51 points conceded in the final 36 minutes. Great effort.

Good to see Shannon Brown can at least get on the floor.

Any complaints tonight?

Thought not.

They started off with running off of everything, and it was working. Lebron was running it up the court off of makes even, and they were getting semi-transition easy points while the Clips hadn't yet set up. You could tell they weren't ready for anything like that in the scouting report. The game slowed down a bit later on, and by the 4th, no way the guys felt like charging down the court every time. Overall, I liked it, they actually had some offensive production, and Lebron was able to distribute instead of dominate the possessions in the half court. I would say I like our chances pushing the ball into a soft D than our half-hearted efforts at a half court offense. There was one stretch late in the 4th where they started putting up 3 pointers 5 seconds into the clock, but it was pretty solid besides that. Sasha had another strong game.

The defense was there the whole game, getting some nice work from Z especially. No one was blowing by on penetration either, but thats probably because their main ball handler was 37 year old Sam Cassell. We'll see what happens against Miami.

I like the new tempo if the guys have the energy left to get back on transition D. This was a HUGE weak point before Mike Brown got here, and I don't want the uptempo offense to make guys lazy about getting back on D.

Technical for THE KING

I was at the game, and definitely got the "he's getting a T tonight vibe." Gooden got T'd up too. The crap thing was Brand took his headband off after AV got a massive flagrant type swat on him and the ball, and Brand didn't get T'd.

Some thoughts...

Hughes sucks dick shooting. Not just normal sized dick, but like John Holmes sized dick. He was shooting 19 foot jumpers before the game, and made like 1 out of every 3-4. I suppose he had a solid game, but he definitely can't shoot at all.

Pavs looked great. I don't know why they can't give Boobie more run....he came out hot, and then got ignored.

I thought midway through the first that Brand was going to torch us for about 40. I think it was more of him being tired, than us actually doing anything to stop him.

Eh, I think it was more of the Clippers not showing up to play than us shutting them down. Livingston had a decent game, he definitely owned Boobie for awhile.

I was at the game too tonight. And I noticed that LeBron looked pissed the entire night. I think the non-calls are really starting to frustrate him... he's just not having fun out there like he should be. Hopefully stringing a few wins together will help get him out of this funk.

As far as the game went, I really liked us pushing the ball up the court early on. It seemed like we went away from that later on once we built a comfortable lead. I'd like to see us play that way for an entire four quarters but I guess tonight it really wasn't necessary.

One complaint I did have was MB leaving LeBron in until very late in the 4th quarter. To me that was just really unnecessary. I'm not sure if they wanted him to get into double figures or what. But we need everyone to be fresh for the Heat on Friday night and I just didn't see the point of not resting him a little more. But overall, a much needed win tonight and I'll take it. Still we are amazingly only two games behind for the best conference record. Gotta love being in the East.

We need to trade Lebron. :uhh:
