I like Stevens and I stick up for him all the time. But this guy should not touch the ball with time left on the shot clock unless it's just to pass it around the horn, or if someone is assisting him as he's cutting to the basket. He should not be going one on one attacking off the dribble as an aspect of our offense while guys like Garland and Mitchell are watching. They should be the ones attacking, and Stevens should be cutting to be available as a weak side outlet if they get bogged down.

Unfortunately, playing with 2 traditional big men, there just isn't going to be space for Lamar to cut into and through with that 5 man group.

Now, you get him back into a bench role in lineups with Osman and Love? Maybe we have something cooking there. I think Lamar is far more effective either as a 4 or with a perimeter-focused big man on the court.

He has value as a hard nosed defender and he can bully some players on the offensive end. But the next time I see him get stuffed at the rim will be one too many. He's not as strong attacking the basket as I hoped, he doesn't get above the rim unless he's in space. He seems good for about 1 out of 4 corner threes, maybe he's a little better.

He just can't be a focal point of the offense on any possession, ever. But he's getting the ball with the expectation he's going to attack the paint off the dribble. He can manage that if there's space but if the paint is crowded, it's a lost cause.

Not sure why he's started over Okoro the last couple games Okoro was doing so much better the previous couple games.

Lamar can't process fast enough. His passing isn't good enough either. If you can't shoot, you have to be able to pass

He started against the Pacers because Haliburton is 6'5" and LeVert got embarrassed by Haliburton the last time we played them. Not saying I agree with the reasoning, but that's the reasoning.

I don't think this is correct.

He started against the Pacers because he was the starter when he got hurt. Fedor came out and said the plan was always for him to go back to the starting lineup when he returned. This wasn't a matchup-specific decision. It was JB being stubborn.

The more he plays, the less I want him on the floor
in crunch time. He must be a league leader in
passing up wide open 3s. He is a clog for any
chance of spacing for teammates.

Huh??
We got run off the court but the team was +8 when Stevens was playing, and you are bitching about him?? Stevens may not score enough, but at least he gives help in other ways. He added 5 boards, 4 assists and 2 steals along with his 5 points. I'd rather see Wade playing, but give me Stevens over Okoro any day of the week.
