LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lebron from the outset was clearly focused on making this series a playoff duel between him and Paul George.

They swept. seems like the right call.

What will be interesting is to see if in the next series if Lebron goes defensive and defers to loverand Irving offensively as he did the first two series last season.

Irving is not right. He's off.

His post game conference has some ridiculous moments. The guy just described plays to incredible detail and even talked about a play in the last game he lost in the first round in 2012... Its amazing how he can do that.

I hardly post much about LBJ because he's so good and his game speaks for itself. It so blatantly clear as to be near indisputable. He's got the whole package. I'm grateful.

Lebron wound up AVERAGING 32.8/9.8/9.0/3/2 in this series. To demonstrate how ridiculously good this is, here are all the individual games in the playoffs the last 35 seasons in which a player scored 32 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, dished 9 assists, collected 3 steals, and blocked two shots:

Isiah Thomas: 1987, 34/9/9/4/2 against the Bullets.

That's it. If you take away the 2 blocks requirement, it has been done 14 times.

Obviously, a player can wind up averaging those numbers even if he doesn't have any individual game with all those requirements (more points in this game, more steals in that game, etc.) but still, you get the idea.

Needless to say, nobody has ever gone a playoffs averaging 32/9/9/3/2. In fact, LBJ and Westbrook this season are the only ones averaging 30/5/5/3 (they've only played 4 games each).

Crazy good all around series in which he pretty much beat and swept the Pacers by himself.

I'm biased, but after last year's Finals he sealed the deal for me. Greatest comeback in NBA history against a 73-win juggernaut, and put up monster numbers only matched by MJ's career-best Finals performance.

LeBron's 2016 Finals
30/11/9 on 49/37/72 shooting splits
2.6 blocks and 2.6 steals per game

Jordan's 1991 Finals against 58-win Lakers
31/11/7 on 56/50/85 shooting splits
1.4 blocks and 2.8 steals per game

LeBron's playing with house money now. If he's not #1, he's a clear #2 and still somehow the best player in the league after 14 seasons.

And his defense. It was the greatest offense+defense combo that we have numbers for and likely of all-time. Jordan had Pippen and Grant and then Harper and Rodman to help him. Who helps LeBron?

LeBron defensively in the playoffs was ridiculous:

Overall: 31.9 DFG%, opponents usually shoot 45.9%, -14.0%
Threes: 24.1 DFG%, opponents usually shoot 36.7%, -12. 6%
Twos: 36.6 DFG%, opponents usually shoot 50.5%, -13.9%
<6ft: 37.9 DFG%, opponents usually shoot 61.3%, -23.5%

LeBron defensively in the finals was utterly ridiculous:

Overall: 31.6 DFG%, opponents usually shoot 47.9%, -16.3%
Threes: 29.0 DFG%, opponents usually shoot 39.6%, -10.6%
Twos: 33.3 DFG%, opponents usually shoot 53.6%, -20.3%
<6ft: 38.5 DFG%, opponents usually shoot 63.6%, -25.1%

3.) Malone 42
4.) Hakeem 39
5.) Duncan 32

*Playoff games with 33 p, 10 r, 4 a, 4 s, 2 b:

-LeBron James today
-LeBron James 6/9/15
-Dwyane Wade 6/20/06
-Michael Jordan 5/6/97
-Patrick Ewing 5/4/90
-Hakeem Olajuwon 4/26/86
-Larry Bird 5/2/84

The playoffs just suit LBJ so well. Never a back to back so he is always fresh. Then he finishes early rounds quickly to get extra rear and practice before the next round. This allows him to stay fresh and get stronger until he let's it all out in the finals.

I don't know who this DaveMac guy is, but he disliked this post. Only an idiot would disagree with this statement.

Might have been an accident. Or maybe he's old school and doesn't like three pointers?

I have no problem if someone thinks Jordan is still better overall. Jordan was definitely no slouch, and great. But you have to be completely delusional if you don't at least acknowledge it's a legit argument on which one is better.

I'm leaning towards LeBron though. But I wouldn't cry the blues having either guy on my team.

I so wish they played at the same time in their prime. That would be the most "must-see-tv" ever.
