That had all the subtlety of a hand grenade.
I didn't take it as a shot at Kyrie. Its more of a shot at Rose.
LeBron isn't alert enough to guard good small forwards off the ball and isn't as quick to guard them on the ball. However, his individual defense on 4's has been impressive against Porzingis and Blake. Its why Jeff Green is so critical. He's the guy we can have guarding Durant so LeBron can guard Draymond and roam.LeBron making those turnaround fadeaways ala Jordan and Kobe has been a pleasure to watch. Some of his plays in the post have been elite as well. He still needs to polish it a bit more but during the playoffs that would be huge to have. Especially combined with the fact that he is also shooting well from the mid-range as well as beyond the arc.
Also, LeBron's defense on Blake was quite good. I think its pretty evident that at this stage of his career, he is much better guarding the 4s than the 3s. He doesn't have that same first step he used to, to guard quick athletic perimeter players like he used to in his prime when he used to lock down Prime DRose and Tony Parker.
