The risk is if Lebron and George see Kemba as too Kyrie-lite and taking on Batum's contract as irreparably handcuffing the roster. Lebron thinks more like a GM than the average NBA player. It all comes down to if Lebron during the season lobbied for Kemba or not. Lebron has been open with Cavs management with which players he wanted to trade for. If Lebron never lobbied for Kemba than you try to flip Love for George first. Besides, GM Lebron knows that the Kemba trade will always be on the table since he knows no other team would give up their lottery pick and accept Batum's contract for Kemba. I'd rather have Beal than Kemba, bigger and longer.
Beal would be better than Kemba but I don't think the Wizards drop him for a #8 pick, and the Wizards have no bad contracts to get rid of.
Kemba/Batum are only worth taking on if you can get PG III for Love, so that deal has to come first. But if you can get PG III then I think Kemba/Batum become worth it. Remember, in a vacuum Batum is very overpaid but he is still an upgrade over JR and Clarkson for the SG position, who together are making more than Batum (!).
