LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've said it the past few days - this is what I've heard. It's mostly speculation on NBA circles, but they know Kawhi's personality. The people I know at Spurs don't think he wants to play for Lakers now. He hasn't said that, but that big spotlight is not his thing.

Honestly the buzz before LeBron went to the Lakers was that Leonard was more interested in Clippers due to being able to fly under the radar more there.

You think Kawhi wants to have the finger pointed at him by media if the Lakers don't win a title or get to the Finals?

Maybe he will and this isn't coming from him, but it's general consensus around NBA that it's likely.

LeBron will never play another NBA finals, it seems.

It might wear on him. We know LeBron is moody and a competitor. I could see him sucking it up this season but if they don't get Kawhi, I wouldn't count out anything. I think the competitive spirit in him will create a situation where he won't want to waste years while he is still great.

If the Lakers don't have their stuff together for LeBron summer 2020, I feel like we could be hearing that LeBron wants a buyout.

From that perspective it was a dumb move for him to leave the East. If he cares about finals and rings, he should've gone with Philly.
But his family and business ventures probably sealed the deal for him in California.

Sometimes you prepare yourself for taking a step back and relaxing, but if that isn't part of your makeup?

What about his best friend, Dwayne Wade, saying this move was about family and lifestyle, don’t people understand?

It’s frustrating to rehash these same arguments daily. LeBron knows he has a massive uphill battle in LA. But guess what? He’s more than OK with it.

I think he believes what GS is doing is almost comical. They’ve assembled the Marvel Universe to stop 1 man.

When people look back on his legacy, they aren’t going to dwell on how many championships he won.....they’re going to dwell on how absurd players and organizations became to try and beat him....to the tune of historic teams adding multiple HOF’ers in their prime.

He’s content with what he’s accomplished.

LA is also a much nicer place to live than Cleveland, but especially so when you're rich and famous.

I'm guessing that you haven't spent much time in LA. It might require being rich and famous to ignore how much of a shithole that metro area is. It's an area that was probably great decades ago, before it turned to shit.

I haven't lived in Cleveland either, but have spent a lot of time in both places. The only time I'd rather be in LA is when I'm starting to get tired of winter.

I keep getting a "Wayne Gretzky to the Kings" vibe from LeBron.

Meaning he won't do as well as people will think, but the celebrities in that area will love it.

LBJ might never win another championship again with GSW having an all star starting 5.

I think LeBron got tired of carrying his team through the playoffs only to lose to insanely stacked teams and get shit for it. We already know if he had stayed in Cleveland next year and made the finals, the dumbass talking heads would all be giving him shit and saying how "this takes him out of the GOAT conversation", as he's facing a starting 5 of Curry/Thompson/Durant/Green and Cousins.

indeed. no matter what he does he gets shit. no true scotsman.

only thing he could do is retire. when you're gone ppl act like they always loved you (see: muhammad ali).

check twitter: actual smart basketball minds saying "jordan would have never tapped out and ran to LA"

no matter how smart you are, human will human and we're all biased

It's likely that Swaggy will be playing elsewhere going forward. How awkward is it that he was teammates with an Iggy?

On another note, Bron still hasn't met with his coach and fellow 2003 draftee Luke Walton. "Throw it down big man" Junior gives Bron what he wants with a figurehead coach. I'll always appreciate that he distracted the Dubs as an assistant with his committing to the Lakers during the 2016 playoffs...
