LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A LeBron/Kawhi/Cousins trio at full strength would be enough to beat Golden State.

"No"? Wtf?

I can see a scenario where he asks to leave with a year or two.

Keep in mind that for a few more days, teams have no ways of officially rebutting things like this, or things like DMC's extremely misleading, if supposedly technically accurate, "no other firm offers during the FA period" statement.

The other spin that's gotten way too much traction without much rebuttal is that DMC is "just a reclamation project" and "unplayable against Houston," which even if accurate downplay his value in getting up to that point.

To be fair getting Demarcus for half a year isn’t that appealing to the Lakers who aren’t winning next year anyway. And assuming they are still trying to add a max free agent this year or next summer, they have no means of keeping DeMarcus since they don’t have his bird rights. And for the Warriors it is pretty much just a one year boost.

I still think for 5 million the Lakers should have made that move but I don’t think their failure to do so is going to have any short or long term impact aside from making the Warriors the even more prohibitive favorites this upcoming season.

Yeah. The Lakers have the pressure of needing Cousins to come back as their 2nd best player. Warriors don't even need him to play and they are still heavy favorites.

It will be something LeBron or his people will leak that they wanted Cousins but Lakers management didn't listen, when Cousins drops 30 on them in a playoff or regular season game.

Who knows if LeBron is actually giving his input on any of these moves.

People are tied in knots over this whole 4 year (3 year really) commitment thing with the Lakers (and the heat) when in actuality he did give us 4 years. No, it wasn't from a 4 year contract from the start, but that was never going to happen because of the spike in the Salary Cap, which was predicted to, and obviously did, happen within the first 2 years of his return. I really don't get how or why everyone is overlooking this reality that he was never going to sign a 4 year contract back then because it didn't make sense to. At the end of the day, he did stay for 4 years and we got a title. This whole "he didn't give us a 4 year commitment" thing is stupid.

I did take the 4 year deal as an insult in the immediate aftermath of the announcement. After thinking about it for a bit, I think any player who can still demand a 4 year deal at this point in his career should probably do so. LeBron has already made it past the age where most guys are showing some serious decline in their game. What are the odds that LeBron is really worth the $40 mill on the 4th year of that deal? LeBron is one of the rare guys who might.

Chris Paul, on the other hand, is probably going to be an albatross around Houston's neck for the last year or two of that deal.

I feel awful for Lebron to be honest.

Every time he has made a free agent decision it’s been a winner.

However this time it just feels like a failure.

This lakers team, as currently constructed, is trash.

I know Windhorst has this new article on ESPN about how magic wants to build differently around Lebron and surround him with playmakers like rondo and Stephenson.

But to me it’s just a total joke. The lakers really have so little shooting outside of kuzma.

And if you can’t keep shooting at a high clip, you can’t win out west.

I understand he said he doesn't want to be the primary ball handler anymore, but I'm not sure LeBron is able to go to this off ball scorer mode. He so motionless without the ball, and he isnt a great screen setter.

I dont see great success coming with this style. Additionally, if this is indeed how he is going to play now, where does Ingram fit? Who the fuck is he gonna defend?

He bough Magic's bullshit. Hope he is ready for it to fail.
