LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's going to be tense to say the least with Ball/Rondo. Rondo showed last postseason that he can clearly be a good starting point guard still.

I'd give Rondo the ball and have him and LeBron play the two-man game. Lance can run the second unit. I guess Ball plays with the second unit too in that case.

Lol now Lebron has to bow down to the Lakers greats in order to avoid being vandalized View: https://twitter.com/CBSLA/status/1020005144736362496?s=19
He invited this scrutiny, and knew damn well that it was coming.

I get the "why" LeBron went to play in L.A., but for somebody who cares so deeply for his legacy I hope he's prepared for the scorn he'll receive when he fails to accomplish what so many greats before him were able to.

The entire situation is very much a "no win" sans the business and family side of it.

I mean unless Golden State (hypothetically) falls apart after winning their next title? He's not going to make it back to the finals for the forseeable future.

You already have the shithead Jordan and Kobe fans doing the "3 and 6" finals record crap at him.

It's effectively a retirement. It weirdly reminds of Emmit Smith going to the Cardinals or some player at the end of his career going to the Marlins.

Sad to see him retire this way, and give up. he is a fighter, but those final losses would get to anyone. 6 finals. you look at lakers team, its worse then ours. they dont even have a center lol.

I expect them to have to make major changes by the trade deadline because LeBron will be "moody" and "not look like himself".

I'm also expecting around this time next year, if the Lakers strike out in free agency again, that the talk heads will be feed the narrative that Magic is wasting LeBron's prime. It will end up with LeBron getting trade to his choice of destination or a buy out. Some how LeBron's PR crew will try to make him blameless in this situation.

Eh I don't see any of this coming to fruition. While I think he'd prefer to be competitive, LeBron is content just being in L.A. regardless of how they do. He's in the "honeymoon" phase of his career and whatever happens on the court happens.

He's more invested in extracurricular activities and life post-basketball at this stage. Another ring would just be a bonus.

I believe LeBron currently thinks the things you are saying. I just don't believe the drive to win will just disappear. I think at some point he won't be content with the guys surrounding him and the play of the team. I think he will come to the realization that he isn't done and Hollywood will be there whenever he wants, basketball won't be.

The push might not even be basketball related. He did look very comfortable acting in Trainwreck but Judd Aptow's style of making a movie tends to do that. If he has to act for real with a structured script, it might be a whole different story.

I do think there's a good chance the Lakers will be stacked by the 2019-20 season. There will be so many free agents next off-season, and the Lakers also have youth to add other talent via trades, or just straight up depth.

But unless you think Ingram/Kuzma is remotely comparable to Wade/Bosh, I don't really see the comparison.

I'd be a bit more willing to say "Yes. He'll win another title" if:
-The Warriors fell apart.
-More stars joined him in 2019.

As it stands now? He's just kinda "there" for the moment.
